In Science Times section of NY Times (4/6/21) there was an article describing a massive black hole observation study. In the article several astrophysicists were asked to describe their reaction. One of them called it "thrilling" and my reaction was that this was a woman. It struck me that men seldom if ever use that term. If so, are there any other descriptive terms that tend to be used mostly by one gender?

What do you think it is about the term “thrilling” that made you have that reaction?

    "I'm FINE."

"If you don't know, I'm not going to tell you."

    "He's hunky."

"Fabulous" probably doesn't come up that often with men.

Hah. I was going to mention that one - except it doesn't fall along gender lines.

It's very popular term among Friends of Dorothy.

I have never heard a man say "I'm thrilled".

    yes there are many
but gender has a lot of indoctrination through childhood attached to it
and people transition from one gender aspect to another over their life time

knowing how to read gender in written language is a very very high skill level
and one that you may not find any professional discussion on in public because it tends to be used by terrible people to bully harras and abuse people with once they think they have some type of inside knowledge
like gay conversion therapy by supposedly trained psychologists working under a church group

Americans have very stereo typed culture groups normally

the concept of being (in their theory) well versed in global culture is a false belief held by many people in many different places

this false belief increases with their racism and xenophobia

this subject is fraught with tools for abusers to abuse teens children and LGBTQ+ people
some i have been told by their fellow church group members how they have used such knowledge to abuse their own children
psychologically damaging them severely to try and force them to be a gender stereo type

this type of abuse from christian Hindu and Muslim parents on their own children to try and prevent them from being gay masculine or effeminate in perceived opposition to their biological birth gender is VERY common.

One painted lady to another; "Can you lend me ten bucks until I get on my back again"?
