    JamesR,

I hope you enjoy your power while it lasts. Not that I have anything against that, but why have you prevented me from posting in the whole Science section? I was given no warning before this happened. Is it permanent? There is already a Philosophy thread called "Does mathematics exist or is it a human construct?" Not to mention "Why are there so many racist memes of minortys but almost noun of whites?" by a member with a severe case of pretense.

I find that uncalled for and would like an explanation.

    Nick.

Spellbound - whilst I am not James, we do have a thread in the mod forum documenting these sub-forum bans:

You were warned, for posting pseudoscience in the science sections, on:
    February 21, 2015
    February 27, 2015
    March 28 2015
    August 21 2015
    And now January 21 2016

As for the actions of _baller, it has not gone unnoticed.

    Thank you.

This is in line with our site policy, as published in the following thread:

    http://www.sciforums.com/threads/ex...from-posting-in-the-science-subforums.144700/

You were given 5 warnings over a period of time, which Kittamaru has listed above. You were reminded in those warnings as to what the consequence would be if you warned 5 times, in line with our published policy.

No. Initially you will be excluded from posting in the Science subforums for 1 month. However, should you continue to post pseudoscience or meaningless nonsense to the Science subforums after that, you will then likely be excluded for a longer period - mostly likely 6 months or 1 year. Any third exclusion would likely be permanent.

Those threads have attracted moderator attention already. Please feel free to report any posts that you feel breach our rules. The moderators will review all such reports.

If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to ask.

On the plus side Sciforums does a pretty amazing job of creating an atmosphere that might remind many here of what happened on the day that they presented their Ph. D. and or Bsc degree or doctoral thesis?!

I really have no problem with the pressure that I feel to confine myself to the Parapsychology forum mainly......
I feel more so at home there anyway?!

I've gotten a number of warnings already.....
and I plead guilty.... I deserved them.....

I was deliberately pushing to see what is cool and what isn't cool to post here!

This thread is 5 years old. Don't necromance dead threads, even if you are obsessed with (near)death.

If a discussion forum is exhibiting some symptoms of become somewhat of a dead board......
necromancing some dead threads may be the only way to liven her up again????????

Hey Dennis - why not try posting replies in some other threads, share your opinions on current events for example - outside of near death experiences.

Good point.... nearly nine hundred posts in the short amount of time that I have been here is a lot.......
I have began to branch out.....
but it is important that I get a feel for several aspects of the long term objectives of this board first because I began posting on ezboard around 2003 and I have seen many many many discussion forums like this die. The fact that this one has survived so long is impressive indeed!

Survive rather than thrive is the key point.

Indeed. I bet sci forums will still be here long after the zombie apocalypse.

Forums in general have been dying out for a while, due to Instagram, Twitter, Facebook etc. Reddit is still going strong which has always been curious to me because I’ve never liked the posting format/style, but I’m clearly alone on that opinion. Lol

    That is an excellent point.......
    keeping standards relatively high.....
keeping offensive posts to a minimum has been critical........

and in my opinion this board has done a better job than seventy to ninety five percent of other groups that I have been on!

    Good point.....
I've seen a few Reddit discussions.....
and you have got me curious and I shall have to have a closer look at them.

You are absolutely correct that Facebook, Twitter and Instagram hit this type of forum really hard.
