    Yes it did.

All the original religious books destroyed at that time were never duplicated at a later time. There is no evidence of any religious presence or activity that can be compared today with then.

All the original scientific books destroyed at that time have been duplicated at later times. If there were errors in the original books they were corrected, but the mathematics involved were exactly the same then as they are today.

One more wonderful observation Gervais made to Colbert (Catholic) is the comparison of how many gods each has rejected.
If there have been 3000 gods, Colbert has rejected 2999 of them, whereas Gervais rejected just 1 more than Colbert.
    I like that logic.

“In art, and maybe just in general, the idea is to be able to be really comfortable with contradictory ideas. In other words, wisdom might be, seem to be, two contradictory ideas both expressed at their highest level and just let to sit in the same cage sort of, vibrating. So, I think as a writer, I'm really never sure of what I really believe.”
    ― George Saunders

“Let yourself be carried along by things so that the heart/mind wanders freely. Hand it all over to the unavoidable, so as to nourish what is central within you. That is the most you can do.” --- Zhuaungzi

Well, I don't know about all of you, but I like that one which goes: Life, is a tale told by an idiot, full of noise and fury, signifying nothing.

“He was mastered by the sheer surging of life, the tidal wave of being, the perfect joy of each separate muscle, joint, and sinew in that it was everything that was not death, that it was aglow and rampant, expressing itself in movement, flying exultantly under the stars.”

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

"There is a magic made by melody:
A spell of rest, and quiet breath, and cool
Heart, that sinks through fading colors deep
To the subaqueous stillness of the sea,
And floats forever in a moon-green pool,
Held in the arms of rhythm and of sleep. ”
    ― Elizabeth Bishop

"I wouldn't be surprised if poetry - poetry in the broadest sense, in the sense of a world filled with metaphor, rhyme, and recurring patterns, shapes, and designs - is how the world works. The world isn't logical; it's a song.”
