Came across this Archive site with so much stuff

Claim all stuff free to download

    Not made easy though

I had been looking for 1955 movie The Blob. Many sites yell Download Here. What the site means - Stream from Here

Anyway this Archive site you can download

The link will take you directly to the movie (no need to Sign Up)

    https://ia904600.us.archive.org/19/items/the-blob/The_Blob.mp4

The movie will start playing. You can stop movie playing

Look for the 3 dots on right side. Click those beings up the download button to tap

File size is 1¼Gig and it would not download to my tablet (?). Net was slow, plenty space to store on SD card. Switched to download on mobile phone. Took over 2 hours but did not stop/start or drop out

Now need to wind memory back to my teens to what else I was going to Cinemas to watch

Kiss Me Kate in 3D where the dice tolled into the audience, another 3D - sifi theme - where ray gun circle beams and meteors came out

2:10 Fri 11 Mar, time for coffee (small)

Even at age 13 not scared, was concentrated on how they did the special effects
At age 13? Would have been Frank who?

Thank you for this link, Michael. I was looking for The Blob also. How did you find it? I tried the search tool on archive.org, but it would not search only movies, so I kept getting the trailer instead of the movie.

"The Blob" is on YouTube, also, in its entirety.

Think I found it when I joined The Archive looking through their collection

In preparation (antissssapation) <---- Yes that one if available

of downloading many old movies I bought a 12 months expiry sim card with 240 GB (all available from day 1) and the usual unlimited talk / text

No text (sms) overseas though. No biggie I use WhatsApp for chatting with girlfriends. Texting back to Australia no problem as my temporary Bali number does allow sms overseas and lets me send temporary Bali number back to mates

    But not free to download

For some reason I thought it came out in 1955 checking it was 1958 putting me at age 16

It had a UK R rating, - over 18 only. Mates asked if I wanted to skip Wednesday afternoon sports day, cricket in summer, running through streets winter

Sure wanted to see a movie instead of cricket. Was on with French movie

Thank you, CC! The quality on that version is much better than the archive.org version. Yes, Michael, I also had the audio synchronisation problem on the archive.org site.

One could use the OBS app or program installed on a desktop or laptop to record the movie (i.e., what's displaying on the screen) to a video file. But I have no idea how "kosher" that is.

Also... supposedly a tricky matter to get the right settings on OBS to avoid freezes and what-not on the recording (but that's likely a problem for old computers with deficient memory, mitigated GPUs or slow processing, etc).

Good movie but French language no sub titles

    It's not

I have been given a older laptop weighs a ton has a CD drive and before I went external 1 T drive for Bali computer shop to put movies on for me was bring back DVDs. Beginning many many........ years ago started off full thick plastic case ($)18 each. Now (before COVID-19 and portable drives) cellophane wrap at ($)2 each

Digital 3 shop in Kuta if bought suitable USB ñoot expensive they would put 30 movies on your choice for free

So why are stores still selling (why are they still being made?) DVDs. Once the movie houses have done with the movie why can't I buy a SD card with the movie plus the junk which they include trying to fool you with

Look you get 2 hours of bloopers (ie poor acting or staged) and 2 hours of out takes (lightning not right - plane landing while
    medieval battle taking place)

    Junk the lot of it

SD card ✅ Movie on it ✅ I'm good

Only just started to look through

Spotted The Memphis Belle and thought download that as a test. It's a little short of 5 Gig and tablet estimates 3 hours to download

    OK

Don't expect to find any UFUs are real or any President shaking hands with Aliens
