Came across this ufo photo surfing the internet. It was found on Google Earth street-view at East Lake George NY. in 2018. It's a very detailed pic and doesn't appear photoshopped. I can't think of any mundane explanation for it. It is spherical in shape as many ufos are and appears to even have windows. That entails it is likely some sort of craft. What do you think it is?

Never mind on the above. Comment #1 reveals it is a Google Logo watermark on the film. Guess I should've checked the comments section before posting.

That's it folks. The vast majority of the 5800+ posts in this thread are pretty much embodied right there.

What else would you disguise yourself as if you thought there was a chance you would be picked up by Google Earth?

Have you a 3D screen MR, what are you seeing to make you say that? MR is projecting his own thoughts on to that picture and influencing what he ''sees''.
MR posted it on Scivillage too.
It must be his heavy schedule of 24/7 cut and pasting quotes for ''Quote of the day'' at Scivillage and ''Quotes to remember'' here at Sciforums taking its toll.

It's not a sphere. It's the Google logo for Google Earth.

Logo or not, you said ''It is spherical in shape''

You were fooled by your own wishful thinking MR.

The youtube video described it as sphere. But as I noted it is actually a logo. Anything else you wanna bitch about?

This is thread about presenting and analyzing evidence for UAPs, so it's pretty disingenuous to complain when someone challenges your presentation and analysis.

And you did say it's spherical. You weren't just parroting what the video told you, since you included the spherical comments as part and parcel of your own analysis, including thinking you saw wjndows and, in fact, compared it directly to "many UFOs" and suggest it is some sort of craft.

So maybe a little mea culpa would be the more respectable thing to do here.

But, rather than that, since you chose instead to get defensive and critical, that justifies subsequent challenge:
Eventually. Once someone else told you what to think.

But first, you wrote your own "analysis".

How much time did you spend analyzing before deciding you couldn't think of a mundane explanation?

Why did you never even bother to consider that the artifact could have been added digitally to the video?

Do you think that this (your analysis) was a shining example of your critical thinking prowess?

When all is said and done, you were of zero help in analyzing the video to reach the truth. You took the video at face value, and furthered a narrative that turned out (with trivial effort) to be quite false.

Do you maybe want to change your mind about whether you think critical thinking is just hogwash? Do you think that maybe a little bit more skepticism might work toward your goals?

Wow...you're even more of an anal pedant than you usually are Dave. You do realize my asking if there was more to bitch about was a rhetorical question?

On a science board - where critical thinking and careful analysis are de rigueur - that is quite a compliment. Frankly, you would do well to learn a little about attention to detail.

It was quite transparently not. It was a puerile attempt to fire a last volley while pretending you're not firing more volleys.

You screwed up. It happens. If you can't eat a little crow, you can at least not lash out when you're called out on it.

Yeah, you're watching a major drama queen here, in that MR has gone into his classic drama queen mode to avoid admitting he was wrong.
End of story and waste of time.

“There is very good reason that footage of unidentified objects tend to be terribly low-quality. That is because when footage is of good quality, the objects tend to be identified.”

lol - Well, that makes sense, but for me, my skepticism has more to do with the ''why'' than the ''if.'' As the author of the article mentions, why would aliens be interested in our planet for decades and never make contact with us? If the follow up to my question is ''well, they have made contact with us,'' that's where I'd need proof. Grainy pics could very well be proof of alien spacecraft, but it seems like they're incredibly timid of us humans because they fly away too quickly before we have a chance to 'study' them.

Goes against the typical movie trope anyway, of powerful, evil aliens seeking to take over the Earth. Perhaps, aliens are really the ultimate introverts.
