They are claiming that Ukraine didn't sink that boat, it was just an accidental fire.

They are also moving all their other ships away from the Ukranian coast so they don't "accidentally" catch on fire, and they are bombing the factory that produces those missiles.

Either Putin is the dumbest guy in the world or his inner circle is giving him erroneous information.

Given his history I would not think the inner circle could snow him. That only works on newbies.

Russia are also saying they're stepping up strikes against Kyiv in response to the sinking... an odd response for an "accidental" fire that caused the sinking.

    crew size 521
reports saying the captain was killed
there must have been casualties but Russia is covering them up & denying them

im guessing they probably thought that was the safest place on the battlefield and probably had influential personal on board living the easy life so they may be trying to cover up that some of their rich listers got injured or killed

    • Please do not advocate violence.
Why not Russia launch more supersonic bomb to hit Kyiv's targets?
    Destroy the presidential building?

Maybe, employ a small scale nuclear warhead on Kyiv? Sure Ukraine will surrender.

Russia should withdraw its forces from Ukraine and begin a process of making reparations from the damage it has done to its neighbour.

Rather than attack targets in foreign countries it should weed out its traitors at the top of its own political system.

A first step might be to fight for the freedom of information it is being denied.

As the Russian people are the first victims of the Russian regime this is a difficult and dangerous process.
If I was religious I would say my prayers were with them but in any case our first thoughts have to be with the Ukrainian people .

As for those welcoming a nuclear attack on Ukraine I hope you rot in your own shit.

Then what? What happens after Ukraine surrenders? Extermination camps? Re-education camps? Mass graves?
Why the hell would Ukraine surrender when faced with all that?

What? Russia deliberately cover up the true number of deaths and report either nothing or a ridiculously low number? How dare you accuse them of such! There will be "unpredictable consequences" if you continue along this path!

According to the Guardian: "Some western reports suggest just dozens of the estimated 500 crew-members were rescued as the ship went down."

Had the actual number of casualties been low, I think Russia would have admitted it, but their silence does tend to give credence (rightly or wrongly) to it being a significant proportion of the crew that were killed.

What does a female Georgian volunteer soldier do before grenade practice?

An instructor shows a woman how to use a grenade during a training with members of the Georgian Legion, a paramilitary unit formed by ethnic Georgian volunteers, in Kyiv, February 19, 2022.

    answer:
    Her nails, silly.

Would you like Putin to do that?
China wants Putin to end the fighting.
    ''this from China:''

Do you think China is now spoiling your fun?

What would Chinese leaders have said if Putin had won quickly?

At this point Putin can't do anything but make himself look more stupid and sadistic.
He does not have a good way out.

They would have tried to make capital out of the situation and I expect would have placed the blame on Nato for provoking the war.

Pointless to expect anything disinterested from the Chinese regime which is barely accountable to it's own population.

Let's hope you are right about the High Lord Putin and that we get to see him swinging in the wind when his crimes catch up with him.

    Yes, very
It gives me a feeling of pleasure
perhaps, not as much pleasure as I would derive from feeling your rhythmic pubococcygeus muscle contractions. but, pleasure none the less.
    Thank you!

Russia is continuing to bomb civilian buildings
i hope the new weapons get to the front line for the ukranians soon.

it looks like the only thing Russia will understand is their own body count and that is being hidden from the media
but once the Russian people start to realise all their young men are coming home dead & injured & they cant afford to buy any food
& they cant afford to go out and socialise they will demand change.

their society is slowly grinding to a complete stop from all that they knew it to be before they invaded.

the price will be too high soon & then the only thing they can do is demand putin to put their own people 1st

but the grain production will be stopped for 2 years
its going to be a hard time for a lot of people

had putin followed my advice and built a city with his troops instead of invading
they would now be trading with the grain and in a morally superior position to control of the economics of food production with citizens voluntarily supporting their policy's.

i would be tempted to burn all the grain fields rather than let the enemy get hold of it

    sympathies--- for the dead/wounded/eternally scarred
I had my war and it sucked.
I suspect that no one wins a war and that all wars suck
They suck the life out of too many people, and the joy of life out of too many more.

    No one is blameless
NATO and the USA intended this war---and they have it---without having to send their citizens into battle.
The people of Ukraine are being used as pawns, and their suffering has just begun.
I think that Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin erred in telling the USA and NATO what it would take to goad him into attacking, and then attacking as though he was their puppet on a string.
(even intelligent people have periods of idiocy?)

I can start off with an intellectual approach--Sun Tso and all that
    but
When I see people cheering for one side or the other...
(as though this was just another spectator sport)
    it just makes me sad.

    War sux
and the people who start one
    will never fight in one
    There are no heroes.
    Just victims.

Are you suggesting that we should not consider Putin's decisions as his own? That somehow the decision to invade Ukraine was not his to make?
The obvious fact is that Putin ordered this invasion of another internationally recognized nation, ignored international law and decided to isolate Russia from the international community.
It was his decision, his choice and you believe he is not culpable. If it wasn't his decision then who's was it?
Sanctions etc are only a way of recognizing the decisions that Putin has made..validating his capacity to make them by ensuring that his decisions have consequences.. good or bad...
One could argue that the only reason we have victims is because Putin decided to ignore international law.

Ah,so now we have the master plan in this age of mutually assured destruction.

Provoke the nuclear powered adversary into an initially conventional war in a country on your own borders.

That makes sense.Sure why not roll the dice?

    Well you only live once.

Thanks for explaining that we now have the war we have been itching for all these years when it seemed easier to believe we were trying to avoid burning down the planet.
