It's great to hear another view so similarly shared with my own. How can you establish a sound religion, superficially trying to express monogamy, when the founder of the cult had over thirty wives and caused the destruction of an entire community in which he came from? Now you have Warren Jeffs, of the "Fundamentalist" Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, who had "40" wives, then went on the run for two years until they finally caught up with him: charged with having sex with a minor and prearranging underaged marriages.

You cannot establish a religion when the founders that you look up to - Joseph Smith and Brigham Young - were both extreme polygamists and caused gross havoc within their communities and were responsible for deaths at gunpoint. Mormons seem to be affected by this because when it gets right down to fundamental values and views, they just don't think straight. there's always a warped twist in the way they think when it comes to logically reasoning deepr-rooted values and points of view.

Muslim: I think you're being subjected to some unwarranted criticism. I also totally agree with your initial post. Fortunately, we very seldom - if ever - hear the term "savage" being used anymore to describe any past or present behavior of a group of people. This was and is a misnomer. In my view, as was somewhat suggested above, there are more savages in present-day culture than there were in the early evolutionary periods of homo sapiens. I would not call someone who is just trying to survive and cope with his environment with what he has available a savage. What does this term mean? Of course back the, society was not banded together into as much of an organized civilization like we have today, but population was a lot less too. You did what you had to to survive.
