The music on the radio sucks ass. It has hit an all-time low. There is good music being made but its hard to wade through all the shit to find it. Also, you guys are fucking wrong about pink floyd. they were a little spotty and arent my favorite band or anything...but that stoner music thing is just a stupid stereotype. they have some great stuff like 'wish you were here' album and 'breathe' from dsotm and 'fearless', etc.....dig a little and you find great songs... the golden era was late 60's. beatles, kinks, who, doors all hit their peaks plus tons of other great stuff. you can find music with these kinds of influences being made today and it kicks ass. all IMO of course...Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I can write a book on all bands that suck. But Floyd is really good. Echo is their best album. The darkside of Oz is brilliant.
i like eminem. mainly because well. he's right. reading Tyler's messege makes me thinkk of another good quote.. yes, i knew forumers obsessed with floyd would come to their defense. im sorry, ill be the first to admit im not a floyd guru, but ive listened to tdsotm and thewall once through each, and i just was unimpressed to say the least. yes, i admitted they have their moments--every millenium or so--but they definitely dont deserve the hype they get. maybe for being "influential," but not for being good musicians. maybe im just a bigger fan of southern-style classic rock instead of transgressive pre/pseudo-electronic music with guitars.
