This is of course a matter of opinion. I have already posted much about why I think otherwise.

How about a cheap version of the Uzi 9mm just for home use?

Captain number two, I am glad you are an American

first off, you dont know me, so please dont make judgements on if i am lazy or not. I am studying at university so most probally i will have a very profitable job at the end of it all. i am not thinking in a selfish way, you are.
So you have seen the truth you say? the truth being that corporate buisnesses can exploit the poor to get a bigger bank balance? :bugeye:

thanks for pointing out that remark that brad rules posted, i did'nt even notice it. He is'nt very well educated if the only thing he can defend capitalism with is making remarks about me that are completely false.

you know what i hate: monarchs. here in scotland, we are subject to the monarchy. we dont have a say in the matter: we just are. some people say that they dont do anything: they decide who gets to be a mp.
    i give you an example:
if my father were to be a pilot and he was a good pilot this would'nt make me a good pilot. Using the same principles why is it that the monarchy is heireditry? its just stupid.

(I thought this might get someone to post)

p.s. it will probally be an attack on my belief. lol.

    Monarchs, Kings...who cares...

It is a ceremonial tradition like santa clause for grown ups. Life will be boring without one of those....may be...

As long as they dont dictate...they are harmeless artifacts of civilization past....

artifacts that use up tax money. get rid of them, thats what i say. the money saved from not having a monarchy could go to the people.

I am surprised this discussion is still going.

Startrek economic system is very much like communism. I wouldn't doubt some day the entire world will be communist, but first we have to invent matter replicators.

If the whole world will be communist in the future, why has it been proven that communism does NOT work (i.e Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, East Germany...)

Well, because the matter replicators hasn't been invented.

    Duh!!!!

Read my message again. You should be able to tell it was a semi-jokingly light hearted post since it has Star Trek reference.

With invention of all the star trek technologies in 24th century, people can no longer be motivated by wealth. There is no such thing as wealth in star trek anyway because when the availability of commodities approaches infinity, the worth of currency is zero - simple laws of supply and demand.

Until we have matter replicators, hallodecks, matter/anti-matter power sources with plenty of anti-matters to spare, we are stuck with capitalism.

How do you know Communism doesn't work?

And why do you assume that Communism is a paralell of Democracy? Belarus, the only nation from the former Soviet Union to stay Communist, has implemented a parliamentary Democracy with equal representation as well as a Communist government.

    Communist doesn't mean dictatorship.

And if I recall correctly, Laos has something similar to Belarus, but I could be wrong...

BELARUS IS QUITE SUCCESSFUL, however anti-Communists ignore it!

Good point, but the only other examples of Communist governments we have seen were not really communist because the last requirement was never fufilled. The last requirement being that the working class seizes power.

Either way, I'm happy with capitalism until we get those damn matter replicators

Why wasn't the last requirement ever fulfilled? In Russia, it was Stalin. The fucking HS dropout was in it for himself, but tried to make it look like he wanted to help his country as well. Trotsky would've been a kick-ass chairman d00d!

    Russia, Cuba, Vietnam, East Germany...)

Russia, did'nt work because of Cold-war, leaders.
Cuba, is'nt working because of US embargo.
    Vietnam: is working.
East Germany: again, leaders to blame: biggest mistake, treating the people like they were prisoners.

    [these are just main points]

you are thinking selfishly, there are many people out there that cant even vote because they dont have a home.

LOL! Well if they dont have a home they are either 1. Not Citizens 2. People who dont work (a.k.a potential communists) or 3. Criminals

If they dont own a home, they dont deserve to vote, for they have no real holding in the country.

Shadow; there's a distinct difference between the economical structure of communism and the marxist-leninist society that you (and I) oppose.

Kids, that's Capitalism at its worst. Generally people are more sympathetic towards the homeless.

37: there are more than 1M homeless persons in the US (once somebody accidentally translated this to Russian during a UN meeting as "more than 1M people in the US live in caves")

If they don't work, that means they're Communists? What the fuck? No, if they don't work, that means they're anti-Communist. The working section of the lower class generally are the only potential Communists in bulk.

Also, often these people DO work but it isn't enough to get a decent place, or even an indecent place.

And many of the people that DON'T work, can't work because of a disability. Many others simply can't FIND a job. And if you're homeless, chances of finding a job in your smelly, grimey condition are very low.

yeh, i would agree with this, non-workers that could-be workers are not communist. Big mistake that people make: everyone that believes in communism wants others to work for them while they do nothing. It simply is'nt true, in a communist society; non-workers are not rewarded. (non-workers that dont work that are able to work)
If people dont own a home they cannot get jobs because as everyone knows:
to get a job you have to have a bank account to get your wages paid into: to get a bank account you need to have an address: to have a address you need money: to need money you need a job...and the circle repeats. People argue that all homeless people are drug addicts are gamblers. this is'nt true.
