Screenshot of another computer in the network?

Is there a program that can check on another computer on the same network? Taking screenshots or something? I mean I want to monitor the kid's usage and occasionally check on them without them knowing... Evil me...

Why not either;

Move your computer to a communal area in the house, so nothing untoward can be done on it without supervision?

Setup and install Net Nanny, or use content filtering etc?

Educate/trust your kids?

Random screenshots are not really good parenting techniques, are they?

Radmin is the best. You dont need to take screenshots, you get a real-time view of what they see in a sizable window.

 

I have 2 desktops, one is basicly the kid's, although I use it occasionally. They are networked although I haven't used them as such for quite a while.

We are talking about teenagers, although very unsophisticated ones. :bugeye:

I have a few problems:

It is not just my kid but friends coming over. Also they are not incredibly smart or trustable. Basicly I am affraid that they download viruses.

Who controls the gateway?

 

I guess I do...

 

If you control the gateway, it seems like it would be easier to log the outbound traffic than loading some sort of software on the other person's computer for sending printscreens.


I wish I knew of some specific programs for doing this kind of thing, but I have absolutely no personal experience. I've had very few opportunities to do "child proofing" jobs on people's networks. I just know it can be done.

I also know it's possible to block certain sites if needed

 

I thought it would be fun to bust them anytime they are doing something stupid, and they are not smart enough to figure out how I knew....

I think you may be able to use VNC to do this

I know you CAN use VNC to do remote desktop sessions, and I *think* you can use it to simply snoop if needed.

 

Considering your questions, it seems you're not smart enough to figure it out either. Just saying you may not want to insult the intelligences of other people while simultaneously telling us you don't know what you're doing.

 

Don't confuse laziness with ignorance. Just because I was lazy to google the problem doesn't mean I can't find a solution on my own.

I thought maybe someone knows a simple free program and I don't have to go through the selection process.
