I declare that every god, every imaginable entity, everything that ever will be and ever has been thought of does indeed exist, since there is infinite time and space. That is all.
You posted this in the wrong place, refer to my thread here http://sciforums.com/showthread.php?t=65237
I once proposed the exact same thing. Drunk, in a lean-to with just my ginch and arctic sleeping bag on, in -20C weather.
But the infinite time and space you're speaking of is, contradictorily enough, cut apart by one another's reality—one another's consciousness. He who has the widest consciousness, though, the most fullest of existence beyond man, would share his gods yonder to man's.
if that were true..... then the feces scum stuck to the bottom of the worlds ugliests and smelliest disease ridden mite on the leg of a flea on the ass of a dirty urinating rat, mixed with rat feces, smeared on the corspe of another dirty rat.... could also be a God.... I think it is more likely that you... Rantaak... are simply an idiot. -MT
Not very kind. But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that you don't understand. It is a god. If it is believed to be one. Doesn't our perception of reality function on belief and combined belief? ALSO I do not mean to say that everything imaginable is a god as the way you see it. But if we assign sometime power, it gains that power. Just as we assign meaning to concepts. A tree is meaningless without the concept of a tree. So wouldn't that mean that the more people assign power to a particular entity, such as the christian God, or the Flying Spaghetti Monster, or David Blaine, the more power that entity has over culture and people? By imagining anything, we are creating it, and assigning it the power of existence. Or believed existence. Due to the fact that we function off of belief, and not true knowledge (that would be impossible), isn't that "real"? Or just as real as anything else we believe in? Everyone believes that the president exists. Therefore, that belief is easier to spread and recognize. Not everyone believes that the christian God exists. Therefore, he only exists in the minds of his believers and only has powers over their respective realities, because they can assign meaning to what they witness and attribute it to him. Hope I sound more clear now and less idiotic, Mosheh Thezion.
YEAH.... i know... im so crude and rude... its a personal problem. sorry. but .......... you sound like some kind of Mormom extremist metaphysist... which... really isnt bad or anything... and one could argue that what we precieve as god.... is certainly limited to our small human perceptions of what we BELIEVE god to be... so... ok... but... while i wAs harsh... i had to address the issue that without a clear understanding of where you draw the limits of what can be believed to be a god.. then you are in a bad position as far as the arguement goes. or do you believe that my beleif in a rat feces on flea mite bodies can be a God? or... perhaps the delusion of a warped mind...... i dont think belief can make Gods. God... or Gods... made the universe and are beyond our comprehension, and existing outside our space and time, which is not limited to what we would consider natural laws. god or gods made us.... mankind... imagines gods.... and maybe has been tounched by.... who knows..? -MT
It's certainly a part of God. Or is God separate from it and limited in this way. I've never gotten along with trancendentalists, but I do know how they think around this issue.
Wow!...could this statement result in the ultimate end of those "religon threads" that have littered sciforums for years! Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
I wonder if such a god is aware that you do not exist? Soft boiled or deli hot-god? Yew're trying real hard, aren't ya? I would think before assigning power to anything one would need an abundance of it, correct?— and when exactly might that occur? how could such a manifest be orchestrated? solely from within? during an opportune moment when time splits in two, perhaps? a danger zone, by all means, not meant to be traversed but for the few who will refuse to be torn to shreds during the interim—and then it's the twilight zone. How could you possibly know unless you've experienced the issue—but if you did experience the issue, would you still be calling it Transcendentalism? and if so, wouldn't that be a sacrilege? Just a belated extension, perhaps. That is, it's got prospect lest the bigots stick their fingers up their stuffed noses.
Your entire argument relies on the "since" part of your argument --and the problem is that you have yet to prove that part. Prove that, and not only will your argument be substantial, but also you'll be a very rich man (woman?).
(Man.) According to my theory, the turd that Mosheh Thezion keeps on his shoe could be a god if he believed it was one. Probably not a very powerful one, as he might be the only person who believes it to be a god. Which I don't think he does. My theory does NOT suggest that everything that exists is a god. It simply suggests that if space OR time are infinite, everything imaginable will or has at some point existed. So if you wanted to believe in a god made out of spaghetti and flight, it has existed or will exist in some point in time or space, in the description you assign to it (powers and whatnot). If only I could prove that space or time is infinite. heh.
I declare that the only God is the Flying Spaghetti Monster. And you are all infidels! Prepare to die by his noodly appendages!
