I'll see your Sgt. Peppers and raise you... Abbey Road. Beatles conspiracy
lovers will note that McCartney, long-dead by the time this album was
released, is barefooted and out of step with the others.

    From right to left:
    John represents a preacher.
    Ringo, a pall-bearer.
    Paul, the deceased.
    And George, a grave-digger.

Hadn't thought about it 'til now, but I guess it subconsciously made me use a picture I took and made a mock album cover with.
The picture's from somewhere in the NW of scotland. The A835 maybe.. I can't remember exactly. And of course I'd stopped the car. The motion blur is um.. edited. That's it!

Band and album name are made up.

There are some great examples so far. Different people have different criteria though, and that's ok. For me, what makes a great album cover is not something that is clever or makes a statement or reflects the music. For me it's simply about beauty. And so, here are a few of my favorites:

Probably not the best, I didn't really search my collection extensively, but here are 3 I love.

I thought of that Led Zep one. Then I thought: "Nah. Dodgy-ish."

It is an incredibly memorable and striking picture though. Seem to remember hearing or reading somewhere that they're Plant's children - yes, rock'n'roll trivia fans? No?

Time to pay more homage to the majesty that was The Clash and their rather talented, nameless sleeve designer. Who cares if most of these are singles, not albums? They're great.
