The problem or the beauty of this forum, depending on your perspective, is that is a 'community' and like all communities it has a wide diversity of view points and beliefs. Now, the problem as I see it with these recent hissy fits and complaints arising is quite simply that the governing body of this diverse community want to restrict and limit that diversity and create a Utopia where everybody thinks and posts the same. This Utopia that the governing body want to create is an illusion. They cannot create harmony with an iron fist. They cannot create Utopia via communisim. The community will not be content if forced to be the same and with the mods being superior and treating the community as if they are subserviant. Lots of board members are going crackers and starting threads, why doesn't plazma say "ok, members of this community are unhappy, lets stop arguing at crossed purposes and work together as a community to resolve the problems together. (This is preferable to leaving it up to the chosen few (mods)who have their own personal agendas) Here it is THE thread where you do TWO things: 1) State your grievance re this board (NO personal attacks on individuals) 2) State your suggested solution to this grievance RULES: Flames and banter will be deleted. Serious contributions will be discussed in the mod forum and we'll detail the results." This is a community mods, you work for the community. The community does not work for you. If the community infrastructure crumbles you will not build it back up easily. The infrastructure is falling because your EGO's are out of proportion with your responsibilities. Your purpose to maintain the board rules not to dehumanise posters whose opinions you do not share. Don't get personal with me either. There is nothing personal to any individual in this post.
