To understand those things that YOU need to know and want to know. Don't run all over trying to learn everything because you'll end up a very confused person. It is also important to get to the truth about what it is you want to learn not just an opionion.

Anyway, he's probably right. Who knows? Are we talking philosophically, for a student or such? A searching question? But when we get down to the point of it, we might say for the individual, what is the most important thing for him/her to know?

it all depends on what you mean by "important", it depends on the situation. im also unsure if you mean current knowledge that is already at human disposal, or any knowledge thats possible to know in the future.

knowing the mystery of existence and the universe? thats pretty important to me personaly. infact if i was told i could hold the answer to any 3 questions i wanted they would be as followed.

1) how existence is possible and why something exists. (what created the universe and how)

2) the key to immortality if possible.

3) how to reach lightspeed safely, or as close to LS as possible.

The most important knowledge one could learn is in fact from Allah Himself.

Allah is the light of the heavens and the earth. The parable of His light
is as (if there were) a niche and within it a lamp: the lamp is
in a glass, as it were a brilliant star, lit from a blessed tree, an olive,
neither of the east(i.e. neither it gets sun-rays only in the morning)
nor of the west (i.e. nor it gets sun-rays only in the afternoon, but
it is exposed to the sun all day long,) whose oil would almost glow
forth (of itself), though no fire touched it. Light upon Light! Upon
Light! Allah guides to His Light whom He wills. And Allah sets forth
parables for mankind, and Allah is All-Knower of everything. ( An-Nur -35).

way of life is the right one?". There are many diffrent ways of life. But
not all of them will lead to ultimate success. and what is success?

Its in the Quran.
That He may make your conduct whole and sound and forgive you your sins:
He that obeys Allah and His Messenger, has already attained the highest
success.(33.71)


That means Quran and Sunnah.

Quran is more or less the exact words spoken to Mohammed
(Peace and blessing be upon him.) The Sunnah is the whole
way of life of the messanger. Which way of life is the best?
It is that which is most pleasing to Allah. It is that of the
prophet Mohammed(Peace and blessings be upon him).
Mohammed is the most profound Human being known to the
face of the earth. Much like the prophet Jesus (peace be upon him)
the son of Mary(peace and blessings be upon her). If you wish to know the
way of life which is most pleasing to the creator. I advise you all to look into
the life of phophet mohammed(pbuh). For those of you who are interested I
will try to compile a thread about the life of prophet mohammed (pbuh) in
the religion forum

the quran just like the bible is false in its attempt at peace. i have read both cover to cover more than once. it preaches as much destructive nature and bigotry as it does peace and love.

the bible and the quran if read in seriousness taken for truth can lead only to corruption and war.

if you want to promote peace then preaching books of hate and prejudice is the wrong way to go. maybe try daoism or the teachings of buddha for a true work of peace and love, without the killing and destructive side.

By prioritzing your goals and needs. You have to like certain things in which you want to learn more about than other things or your going to be wasting alot of time trying to understand things that really are of no interest to you.
