That's sheer nonsense. And there's also TONS of it being held in certain banks. And if you haven't bothered to notice, there are still some gold coins being minted also.

When the Federal Reserve Bank (a private bank, not a public asset as many would think) was created in the early 20th century, it took over the job of creating and managing the currency of the U.S.A. The Federal Reserve Bank lists gold on its balance sheet: how much I don't know. I would highly recommend that you go to a site called http://freedomtofascism.com and get Aaron Russo's movie: "America: From Freedom to Fascism." Quite an eye-opening movie. I saw it on Free Speech TV for free, but you can see some of it at the site and then buy it if you want more. It would be well worth the money, imo.
