I agree 110% with that analysis. In fact I even coined the term "6L cycle," which starts with the FED pumping out too many dollars in a short term effort to solve an immediate problem. I.e. first step is excess Liquidity, which makes banks too free with Loans, and that rapidly make homes prices rise with Linkage to the rst of the economy via the "wealth effect" (using home as if an ATM machines) etc. etc for the remaining "L"s. For more details and discussion, see thread's post 1 at:

China VS the USA, the bets are on!

    China is BIG! in people.

If we fought a conventional war with china today by the time we killed all the forces they could muster { if we could } There kids would be old enough to be the next wave against us.

China stayed behind a large wall letting the world go by as they continued with situation normal. Until the British wanted to sell cocaine to there people they got pissed and closed there harbors, the Brits got pissed and boomed the crap out of them, since then they have been hiding behind another wall made of TIME> assuming that china cant get someone else to make us fall they will just wait for us to do it, or wait until they have all the cards, they have huge resources that they have not even begun to touch, ours will be gone in 50 years a 100 at the most. then I'm sure china will then say hey we have plenty of oil, coal, work force, technology etc,.

China is sneaky, sneaky, read the book of five rings or The art of War both required reading at West Point. They are patient and try to see problems from all angles, there backhanded and have been against us in most wars, not directly but by providing aid to our foes.

I cant see the future and really don't WANT to know. I do know we have a great future as the founders of humanities union of peace, { in a perfect world } or a foot note in world history as we self destruct from putting our noeses where they don't belong until the world gets pissed enough and ballsy enough to put an end to our great nation.

Again, I don't want to know, but I have HOPE.

Where you do you see any evidence that China wants the West to fall? And since when are all countries engaged in constant "sneaky" warfare?

evidence that China wants the West to fall?

Well, first off by its very nature WAR is sneaky. Flank your foe, hit them where they cant see you or would never expect you. My intent here though was that China is more sneaky then most.

As far as China and the USA are concerned I was posting on that topic not creating it. Now consider the Vietnam war, China was one of the largest contributors of money weapons and troops that were used against US interests, same with Korea.

I'm sure if we looked deeper we could find several instances where china is behind the scenes, even now the issue with Nuke production in the Mideast Russia is actively against and China supports Russia.

China also just this year after a US announcement of launching more moon missions tested an ICBM that targeted there own satellite thus putting large amounts of debris in the portion of space that ships and missiles use to go into deeper space. The US took this as a threat and entered negotiations with China.

All of the larger nations on earth are competing with each other for space, money, resources, ground and air superiority, etc.. its the nature of the beast. Its been like this for thousands of years and probably will not change in the near future. Although theres always HOPE.

I'm sorry but I saw no evidence of China's desire to destroy the US in your last post.

    Of what, exactly?

What about the fact that the US is a major trading partner of China? Also, what about how much interests China own in the US, would they really want to lose all that money to see the downfall of the USA?

    Again?

China is and has been against the USA in many wars, military up risings and political stances, do they want the USA to fall? ask them, I don't know. They do not see eye to eye with us in most matters, thats for sure and have been responsible for many lives of US soldiers, so we know for sure there not our friends.

HOPE for what?, peace, the good spirit of man take your pick, the last context in which I referred to Hope was that of the nature of politics and the inherent struggles and conflict that comes with it, might in the future change.

Ok, that's not evidence. We've been in conflicts with lots of countries. Hey, remember that big one with Britain? Somehow I don't think Britain is secretly plotting our downfall.

    obtuse?

I fail to see why I would need to prove My opinion to you. I have stated mine very distinctly. but to take such stances on bits of what I say rather then the whole does need some clarification.

Yes at one time the UK an the USA had a small war, however if at every turn the UK attempted to also challenge our political stances and had backed every major war/ conflict against us from Korea through the entire cold war right up until today then yes whole heartedly I'd see the UK as an enemy to the people of the US.

However in the future please don't ask of me to do your research, if your opinion differers from mine and you feel the need to direct your comments to ME rather then just expressing a them in the open forum then at least have concrete reasons as to why you disagree rather then asking me to have "proof" for my opinions, I need none.

Because you did not state an opinion, you stated what you believed to be a fact, and if it was truly a fact, then you should be able to back it up with evidence.

Your idea that China has the upper hand if it were to come with war is based on nothing but the fact that they have a larger population than us. The USA has roughly 5000 active nuclear missiles, whereas the Chinese only have 130 (of which only a small portion could actually reach the US).

Again, I see your 'opinions' as the statement of fact, which is the point of the forum. We discuss issues using arguments based on facts, not opinion. I hope you are not taking my posts as personal attacks on you or your ideas, but since you made the statement, I assumed you would have concrete reasons for having those opinions and that is why I directed my posts to you.

*Quite a few well off Americans are now, like me, setting down roots in a coutry that will survive well the coming crash of the dollar and the US/ EU depression that causes. In general, I tend to not take the obvious choices, like China, but hvae selected the supplier of things the world's to be leading economy will need. I.e. Brazil has everything China needs and can produce it more cheaply than most anyone else. Several, involved in high finance, have moved to Dubai. Perhaps, thinking like Jesse James's response when asked why he robbed banks: "That is where the money is."

Chinese economy is booming (as it has for three decades) under the hybrid economy (Government funds the rapidly expanding infrastrructure, free market set price of goods and services). In 2007 China rasied interest rates and /or bank reserve reqauirements SIX times. Now it has just imposed some price controls, probably on food (pork is up 60% in one year, etc) but I do not yert have the details.

    Everybody deserve an opporunity

It's always good that the things change from time to time and it happened according to the history, there were big empires, big countries, all of them had the power on their hands. As an example how the history works just let's take an example: Rome.

Nowadays who speak Latin?, of course anybody can study that language, but is not the official language of any country: the Roman empire does not exist any more. Where are the Romans?

And the same it's going to happen with the US, eventually the US will loose power and that power is going to be taken by another country.

Today one favourite candidate is China.

Anyway the US has no brought anything good to the humanity in general, so why we should want them as a rulers of the world?, let's change of ruler, it can be that the things can change this time, let us give the opportunity to China.

It's possible that the world doesn't change too much, there will be the same: wars, murders, poverty, hunger, racism, discrimination, cry, desperation, etc.

The only things that is going to change are the main characters and the places in the new chapter of the history.

As a U.S.American I would like to point out that the U.S. is responsible for Britney Spears, and the worlds largest manufacturer of Fudgicles, so your statement is clearly wrong. Please to edit your words. Thank you, come again.

I would think Elvis holds the crown there. :bugeye:

Not to mention Rock and Roll, contributions to science, technology and education and also opportunities for immigrants through aid for education.

I would also add MacDonald's Quarter Pounder with Cheese and the Mall, which though not so good for the Mom and Pop stores, have by their sheer popularity demonstrated that one can still enjoy stuff even if its not good for you (duh!)

China's January 08 trade surplus climbs 23% to 19.5 billion dollars. - That is an annual rate of 234 billion dollars.
    From: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=newsarchive&sid=a_KhbnCjcLiE

US trade deficit decreased (from 758.5 in 2006 to 711.6 billion in 2007) That is first decrease in GWB's presidency. In 1991 the US deficit was only 32.5 billion. (data form my local paper today, but I think correct.)

First point to note is that US is still very important buyer of the goods and services the rest of world produces and getting slightly less than half of its trade deficit problem from Chinese imports. (Much less when one recognizes that China's surplus was not exclusively from US trade.)

However, the second point to notice is probably more important in the long run. China's surplus went up (significantly) while the US deficit went down (a little). This means that trade with the US is becoming less important to China.

As I have noted for several years, the 30 year contracts China is signing in Africa, and South America plus their domestic population becoming wealther (consumed 18.8% more in 2007 than in 2006) when combinded with the above trade balance facts means that in the not too distant future China will not need to sell anything to the US market (to keep its factories and workers busy)

When that is true, it will be to China's advantage economically to send the US into economic depression as then the price of oil etc paid under those long term contracts will be less (than if US were not in depression)

    Then China will simply say:

GO TO HELL USA. - WE DO NOT NEED TO SELL YOU ANYTHING. YOUR GREEN PAPER IS WORTHLESS TO US.

That is how they will trigger the run by others to get out of dollars, sending North American and Western Europe into depression, which hardly hurts China at all and save it a lot in the payments for the energy, food stocks and raw material it must import. Countries, like Brazil, supplying these materials will miss the US market too but only go into slight recession as they are transformed into "economic colonies" of China (all of Asia, including India)

The trade deficits (increasing from 32.5 to >750 billion) and growing (doubled under GWB) internal debts, in large part because of the needless Iraq war and GWB's realier tax rebates, mainly to the rich, have made the coming depression unavoidable now.

Since this disaster can not be avoided now, I will vote for McCain so history will easily and correctly identfy the GWB and Republican Congress as the cause. I am too old to start learning Chinese, but if you are young, think about this option.
