well, isn't this an interesting night. Did you know that non-pasturized apple juice bought at the cider mill will ferment and turn into apple wine (or something like that) even if its in the fridge? I didn't. My husband is laughing and I'm waiting for child protective service to break down the doors and take my baby because I didn't protect her from apple cider!!!.
Why not just drink along with her to keep her company until she sobers up? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
yep, we gave her some beer. That has water in it right? j/k. made her drink some water, gave her some tylenol, and she's laying down watching TV.
Tylenol and alcohol don't mix well--so I'd avoid it in the future. the best thng to do is put her to sleep if you can.
Oh No!!!! Is that how you got the brain damage?? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! seriously, what happened and what did your folks do?
she'll be fine. this could actually go to your advantage though... make sure she gets really drunk off it, then turn the heater right up in her room that night, in the morning she'll have a wicked hangover and you can tell her thats what happens when you get drunk... might delay the start of her binge drinking for a few years.
Seriously they let me sleep it off.......I dont remeber the whole incident but I know my parents were scared and amused at the same time. Just from my college days I know anything food wise you can feed him that can soak up the liquid will help. I used to eat alot of bread or tortillas before I passed out when we had parties. if he is drinking from a bottle hes probably way too young for solids anyhow......so.....I guess just let him sleep it off?!? *shrug*
How much of it did she drink? You just need to make sure she drinks water regularly (not too much as you could end up over-hydrating her). Just watch her a bit more closely in case she starts to throw up (alcohol poisoning). You aren't the first that something like this has happened to. Don't worry too much. Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
It's my understanding that the only way to "sober up" is to give it time. Basically, you would just wait for the liver to process the alcohol. How much does the kid weigh? I tried googling for information of the effects on children, but I was only able to find info on "poisoning" and "alcoholism as detriment to nurture" (as opposed to facts/dangers describing progressive physiological effects of a single dose). do you suppose the ABV was on the cider? A quick google search yielded one page where people were getting 5-8%.....but those were people doing it intentionally with brewer's yeast. I don't imagine it was anywhere near that.
If she is not feeling too queasy, give her some bread/toast and that will help to absorb the alcohol.
