Depending on who you talk to, America couldn't find its own ass with both hands, but then the next day they are capable of clipping a political candidate in a country where nothing happens without the ISI knowing about it.

That's the greatest part about being a person who stands on quicksand....You can constantly shift your position and never really be wrong.

What, exactly, did the U.S. stand to gain from Bhutto being eliminated?

Nothing, she would have made a more palatable partner than Musharraf.

what we have here now is foley refusing to back off a failed and entirely, moronic proposition

    he squeaks out another conjecture....
the coward lacks the courage to voice the unspoken insinuation
buddy, you are more suited for the monkey's forum
sci demands a modicum of rationale and valid inferences
    you fail in this regard
    take a hike
the pig needs a spin on the spit
    hurry!

    you did not understand
i am now, not surprised considering this vomit you just spewed
i suppose it has been you m.o all the while.
rest assured, foley, sci just got a tad more hostile

According to CNN, Bhutto claimed that most of the equipment the US gave Pakistan to fight terror was acutally being used to spy on rival politicians.

Also, that Musharraf planned to rig the next elections.

That is precisely how these conspiracies take off. Even during the 80s in South America the support and money was to go one place and ended up going to the complete opposite. WARLORDS.

People are getting wise to this stuff, the bottom line will be no more aid.

    Here is a prime example:

Troll? or Numbskull? Hopefully, and with a lot of facts, neither.
You had better make a good account of yourself on this thread Mr Foley.
I expect that you will rapidly backtrack or disappear.

Next someone is going to tell me that America killed Jesus.
Seriously, if we are already making hurricanes and tidal waves, timetravel is the logical next step.

This thread is a fucking joke. It's totally devoid of content and fact. Foley you haven't a leg to stand on and you know it.

The premise doesn't make sense. She knew the Islamists were out to get her, and she would have taken all the help the US offered. If the US doesn't want to support her, why did Condi go to so much effort to help Bhutto get back to Pakistan? I don't think Musharraf would have let her back in on his own.

Agreed, Spider. But you're dealing with the sort of vermin who blame everything on the US and never cease to see conspiracies. Reality doesn't matter to such people. Facts don't, either. Everything is viewed through their preordained prism.

I think Bush Junior is pretty stupid, but I don't think he is that stupid. More importantly, I don't think his keepers are that stupid either. Her loss is very regrettable...a big loss.

Yeah, its all Bush's fault. He's actually the one responsible for the car bombings in Iraq too. He's making it look like we have enemies there so our Army can stay there longer.

desi, those doing the car bombings in Iraq are a problem for the government and the people of Iraq. Iraq is not American property and it must be given back to its legitimate government. And the Iraq government must deal with insurection and criminal acts.

There is no legitimate government in Iraq yet because their elected leaders who don't go along with the terrorists get summarily assassinated.

Even if there is not a legitimate government in Iraq it is up for them to create this government, the United States is trying to help (even if it is for personal gain), but it seems that the fundamentalists in Iraq do not want to allow such a creation of a government, they are the ones responsible for the car bombs, not Bush.

I agree with you. I wasn't serious about Bush setting off the car bombs.
