yoda can just smash gandelf aginst a moutian and use the force to keep attacking gandelf. Yoda have a lightsaber, he can chop gandelf's head off.

Knowledge of starwars would help my friend, as made apparent in your comment.

    The Force is strong.

Yoda is very powerful in the Force, capable of unleashing many powers. Yes Gandalf is a powerful wizard, but for those of you who have not read most of the books and guides, Jedi were once considered to be wizards, 400 years before the reign of the galactic empire. "Wizards" is still a compatible and adequate description of a Jedi, although I don't think it fits in a sci-fi context, but rather fantasy.

    I'll say about 945

He's in his nine hundreds on all of the films.

    Mind Control

Yoda could simply use Force mind control and get the weak Balrog- that Gandalf got lucky in defeating- to kill himself. No comments, that's the conclusion.

Yoda can just get his sector fleet and go over and kill gandelf.

    You think me defeated!

I think even a Mandalorian bounty hunter could kill Gandalf. He is inferior to Sauroomon, and what more could you expect from Gandalf in trying to even get a ten yard radius of Yoda without Yoda saying somethig like "Strong you are, but much to learn you still have." and then using the force illusion to create a fake balrog, consecutively going behind Balrog, and giving Gandalf a hit

in the spine that the low-level wizard Gandalf wouldn't live to feel the pain of.

Don't be absurd, the lot of you. Gandalf took out a balrog before he was even the revised, improved Gandalf. He's a demigod. Yodi is a muppet with an asthmatic cough. Get real.

Yoda is the Grand Master of the Jedi order. Yoda's powers is more then a match for gandelf.

He's the demigod of pussies, maybe. The fact remains, with the hard work left to be done, he let two nearly powerless hobbits go into territory controlled by the Dark Lord alone. Instead, he stayed to face enemies he knew he could beat. This was a step down even from the first time the world fought Sauron, as then he left the men and elves to face the darkness as they were, at least, skilled combatants. (In fact, according to the Silmarilion, he (aka Olorin) wanted to be permitted to stay behind as he was afraid Sauron was too strong for him...but not the mortal men or the rank and file elves, I guess.)

Sure, he took out the balrog (and died in the process), but bigger and scarier looking does not innately mean "tougher." On raw courage the hobbits had him beat hands down. Looking at the badass enemies of the series, the balrog goes in the win column for him, and the rest? Smaug the ferocious dragon...Gandalf helped not at all. Sauron, he left to hobbits, along with Shelob. Witch King of Angmar? Gandalf taks a good game to him, then leaves him to the Rohirrim, including Eowyn, and Merry. He did chastize an old man (Denethor) and killed many of the nameless goblins and soldiers of Sauron. Ho hum. I have no doubt that were Gandalf not trapped in the tomb with the cave troll, that he's have found a way to get to a safe distance and let his "friends" handle that too.

When Yoda learned who the Dark Lord was, he went after him. He didn't look around for someone shorter than him to do the dirty work. He lost, but Gandalf's preferred strategy would have been to set the younglings in first, and see if they're successful in taking Palpatine down. Nothing wrong with that in a "Dance for my amusement, pawns!" sort of way.

Apparently, you guys underestimate the power of Yoda, for you all are ignorant of the fact that even though Yoda is very old, and therefore can not access his Force powers to the full extent, but you probably haven't seen Yoda in action, and probably haven't read the books, therefore WHO GAVE YOU THE RIGHT TO BE CRITICAL IN THE REALM OF STARWARS, GIVING A FALSE REPORT OF ONE OF THE GREATEST AND WISEST JEDI GRAND MASTER TO EVER LIVE. The Force is stronger than Gandalf's juvenile, minute, gnat-killing magic. GNAT-KILLING!!!!!!!!!! ( This is directed toward you, Geoffp, and all other Gandalf fans who know nothing about Starwars.

    Wow. Absolutely breathtaking.

I fully intend to download that response, print it up in a nice Helvetica font, and frame it above my desk as future reference not to get mired down in what may be the dumbest debate ever to cross a computer screen anywhere. Curses on you, Xev. May your curly toes roast in the eternal fires of the Balrog's flames, while the Seven Sons of Feanor flip you off.

Hello, Forceman. This is your life calling. Time to get back in the truck.
