I am not a Neocon, I am not a partisan voter at all , as a matter of fact I am a declared non partisan voter. Try doing that in California. I don't think I need to prove Mr Wright has damaged Sen Obama. I am as aware of the actions Mr Wright has taken over the last 10 years as you have illustated you are ignorant of. No person of color who is unselfishly consumed with the drive towards equality could view Mr Wrights record and see it for anything other than divisive and unproductive. The media's spin on Reverend Wright has hurt Obama's chances of being president. Obama becoming president would probably be a great step forward for race relations in the USA. Only reluctantly do I blame Wright for hurting Obama's run at the presidency. Wright knew full well that the American media are slimy pieces of stupid cowardly crap and yet Wright made it easier for the media to spread their hateful cowardly slime around. I have waited so long for someone to say the obvious; that US foreign policy being an imperialist terrorist sponsoring ignorant evil foreign policy created the situation that motivated Al Qaeda to believe that they were justified to attack US civilians. Many other non-Muslim groups could also think they would be justified in doing terrorism against the USA based on US foreign policy sponsoring terrorism against their people. Bush, Clinton, McCain, and Obama all know full well that 9-11 was blow back against US foreign policy, but some of them support the continuation of the same evil ignorant self-defeating style of foreign policy and the others just don't think it is politically expedient to be honest about the situation given that the media attack any critics of US foreign policy. Reverend Wright probably should have been a self censoring politically expedient coward this year and kept his mouth shut, but it is not in Reverend Wright's nature to keep his mouth shut. But let's be clear, The US media has far more to be ashamed about in this Reverend Wright mess than Reverend Wright has to be ashamed about.
First the elevated reverend Wright to issue number one. Wright has been the lead story for about a month. Meanwhile, Obama's Clinton's and McCain's views on Trade policy, foreign policy, energy policy, immigration policy, and agricultural policy get no coverage. Hilary's quote on annihilating Iran got a little play but that was just a meaningless macho stance on a hypothetical that will never happen. Other than McCain's bases in Iraq for 100 years quote the TV networks have not shared one thing with me in the last six months that sheds any light on the candidates general philosophy on foreign policy. We got a little bit on health care and a bit on taxing the rich. Every other aspect of US government policy has been completely ignored. Second the media spent much more time calling Wright crazy and unpatriotic than they did showing what Wright was talking about. Other than Moyers, not one person on TV would defend any of Wrights statements even though with the exception of the AIDs bit they are all basically true. 15 percent or so of the American people agree with Wright and Wright is correct so why can't 15% of the media panelists and media pundits agree with Wright? Had 15% of the media pundits agreed with Wright the Wright issue would have been much less harmful to Obama. On the chickens coming home to roost bit I know damn well that everybody with a good knowledge of recent history including the candidates knows that is true but the media and candidates pretend to not know the obvious. Not all of the media can be that ignorant. They were spinning. Wright is not being unpatriotic when he tells unpleasant truths. The media may have known better than to call Wright unpatriotic and if they did not know better then they are ignorant. Whether they spin out of ignorance, cowardice, or just to get ratings does not matter; media lying about Wright and not showing him in true context is spinning.
