well, the presumption is that she will concede in the next few days. in front of those fanatic people it just wasn't good politics to do so and she had to close her campaign on the high note...
I am reading an Obama forum and there is a collective orgasm there.... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Let's assume he really gets elected, these people will be SOOOOO disappointed....
LOL! Disappointment is part of the game. Get yer hopes all up and then get them dashed within a year of electing your guy. It's how it works. Duh. ~String
Nope, she just publicly conceded, a few minutes ago. superstring01: "Get yer hopes all up and then get them dashed within a year of electing your guy. It's how it works." So long as hope springs eternal, we're not dead. I believe Obama can preside over a positive turning in the USA.
Obama will loose the election this fall. She will run again in '12 and she'll win the nom then. ~String
Kadark: "does she run again in 2012? Are her chances better or worse?" The next 4 years may involve more changes than any of us can imagine- who can tell?
Just curious, because I'm really not sure: do candidates who run a second time after coming very close the first time generally do well in the U.S.?
All the time. McCain ran against Bush in 2000 and lost. John Edwards ran against John Kerry in 2004, lost but got the Veep nom. ~String
I see. Thanks for the answers. If Obama chooses Hillary as VP, and they switch after eight years, you guys could have sixteen years of Obama/Hillary. What? It could happen.
Yes and no. There's a limit to the amount of time a person can spend as president of the USA, which eliminates their ability to be a Veep after their terms. 10 years to be specific. Two terms plus one day shy of two years. ~String
If Obama screws up, that is economy still goes down for the following reason: 1. We do not have any more manufacturing capacity 2. China will be selling stuff to our former customers 3. We have no engineers left to build anything because most of them are lawyers. 4. Obama raises taxes to feed the hungry (he is a classic democrat) alienating business people and educated people. Hillary can say that...look I told you.
Our economy is based on hope as much as anything, that's what the stock market represents, and Obama is selling hope.
Indeed they do. Nixon, Reagan and Bush all played bridesmaid before eventually ascending to the White House. If history is any kind of predictor, McCain won this thing last night. I think Obama might get Mondaled between now and November. * sigh * four more years of absolutely dreadful speeches....
