If you were intelligent , you would have read the opening post on this thread to see who died and why.

Maybe it's none of our business. Maybe her mother did not wish to divulge that kind of information on an internet forum. Maybe, just maybe, it is highly insensitive to start questioning the mother of a recently deceased child about why her daughter passed away.

One simply does not start asking a woman who just lost her daughter "why did she die?". Think of it as being highly insensitive. It is kind of assumed that people would actually get that without having to be told.

This thread is about a sharing of sympathy with a member who just lost her daughter. We care that she passed away. And we hope that our fellow member is able to get through her pain and suffering at this horrible time. What said member does not need is to be questioned about her loss. Ergo, the how's and why's do not matter. So please, stop demanding answers in a thread where no questions should be asked.

shedevil, this isn't about you. Read her daughters obit and you'll probably get the morbid info you need. But this isn't the time/palce to argue about it.

    Hi friends,
First off I would like to thank all of you for your messages of condolences. Especially those who have been leaving messages on the Hux-Lipford.com website. Words of comfort mean a lot to me.
I get the impression that someone out there may seem to think that I have made all this up as a hoax to get attention. Not so, I promise. Drag - you have made reference to a Bon Jovi thread I had posted on some time back. I did attend that concert when I was 8 months pregnant with my son over 21 years ago. He has just turned 21 this past spring. My daughter was born 2 years later. She was 18 and would have turned 19 on June 30th. As a matter of fact she was named for a Bon Jovi song, Living on a Prayer. Her name was (NO) IS Gina.
Some of you have asked what happened. About a year ago Gina started taking birth control pills. She hadn’t took for a month when she started to develop blood clots. First one in her lung, others in her legs and arms, and then the last one that apparently traveled to either her heart or her brain. She had been on several different types of medication (mostly blood thinners). The last was a drug called Lovinox(spelling?) She had to take three shots a day to the belly forever. On Wednesday the 18th she left with a neighbor to go to the store. She was goofing off and singing and having a good time with everyone. About a mile down the road she said that she didn’t feel so good and felt like she might pass out. She took one deep breath and fell over. The neighbor tried to do CPR, but by the time the first responders got on the scene she had already died. Still they tried to do an emergency thing where they cut a whole in her neck to get an airway going, but it didn’t work. We had her funeral on Saturday morning. My son and his band played Stairway to Heaven. It was beautiful. Both of my children are gifted musicians. Gina’s guitar was on display at the funeral and church where everyone signed it. It was awesome. It went with her. As for me…I am strong. My faith has carried me thru all of this. Although I don’t know how tomorrow will turn out…for now GOD is with me and my family.
About the Tomahawk. The Tomahawk is a local hick town newspaper that comes out once a week on Wednesdays. It was already on the stands for that week the day Gina died. Therefore her obituary will not appear until this coming Wednesday. You all can check that out. theomahawkonline.com and/or you can go to the funeral home website and leave messages if you like. That means a lot to me. As I said I take comfort in little things like that. The site is hux-lipford.com Click on current services and then click on her name, Gina. I would have somehow copy and pasted the obituary on here, but I don’t know how.
So anyway, thank you all for your kind words. I hold then in my heart and like Drag said on his post, take the time to love the children you still have. That is not just for me, guys. I hope you all take that advice.
Thank you all and may GOD bless you all no matter where your faith is.
    Sincerely, Pasquala.

So she was taking birth control pills that led to deadly side effects? Were they over the counter?

My deepest and most sincere condolences ........ to loose a child is just about the worst thing , that can happen to a parent ...... I am so sorry , Pasquala .......

Birth control pills do very rarely have side affects ... but it is a mystery to me , why she was not taken off the medication after the first blood clot in the lung , especially since making a diagnosis of pulmonary embolism involves
lung scintigraphy (a perfusion-ventilation scan ) ........ did she do long distance travel before developing further bloth clots ... greyhound syndrome ......??????????

You speak so unencumbered about this .... very unusual ... I admire you ....!!!

Hmmm .... Pasquala ... which country do you live in .... ?? .. in my country
( Denmark in Europe ) ... ANY unexpected case of death has to be investigated by a government coroner/ MD of justice , who will establish the EXACT cause of death ....a " last blothcloth that either travelled to her heart or brain " would not be accepted as cause of death here ......!!!!!!!!!!!

If death occurred A YEAR after taking birth control pills , and during blood thinning medical treatment ....then what on earth caused this death ....?????????

Anyway , I am glad that your faith lessens your burden ... I wish you all the best , Pasquala ........

Yes, my faith does lessen my burden and for that I am ever thankful, but then again I can't tell you what tomorrow may bring. I even amazed myself. Like I said I am strong.
Gina was on the BC pills less than a month in June 2007. There were not over the counter. They were prescibed by the Family Planning Department at our local Health Department. The clots starting appearing almost a month afterwards and she immediately stopped taking them. As a matter of fact she did take a long distance trip from Tennesse to Florida to see her father. She has been in and out of the hospital for the past year. Maybe 5 or 6 times. I lost count. The first med she was on was (and I am not sure about the spellings of these meds) Cumadin. The there was Heparin or something like that. And the last was a needle type, Lovinox. That one was bruising her up badly. The doctors asked me if I would like a autopsy performed, but it was pretty much a giving of what must have happened on that last day. No fail play was ever the possibility. She had a condition. I turned down the autopsy. I saw no need. However I must imagine that she had a condition to begin with and maybe the BC pills triggered it because for the very little time that she did take the BC pills and started to get medical attention right off the bat. Well it just seems so fast and so extreme.
Anyway, I guess you guys are getting a better sense of me and my strength. I am amazing and I refuse to give that up. However let me just say to any young girls (well females really). Make sure you are healthy enougth to take birth control. Be thoroughly examined. Make the doctors check you blood or anything else that needs to be checked way before starting. I wish I could change what happened, but I can't.

    Dear Pasquala ,

I am so sorry for this !!!!!!! And I´m glad for everything, that can carry you through these times of grief ........

However , if you stop with the birth control pill ... then after a few weeks your risk for blood cloths due to the pill , totally dissappear ....... to my best knowledge taking birth control pills and then stopping , does NOT trigger any conditions of getting blood cloths later on .......... unless you have another condition to this allready .........or said differently , the BC pills were not the cause of this ........!!!!!!

Again , what can I say ..... loosing a child ........ nothing that I can say, can
really express how sorry I am about this.........
