me too ^. why even bother trying to change sandy's point of view? I have talked to Neo Nazi's and other retards in my days both in Australia and China and i find its just a waste of time arguing with some people. Their lives are built on this belief system that "muslims are bad" or "All blacks are savages" and they will never shake that belief away as if they lose faith in that, their world crumbles around them.
I wouldn't be surprised if Arsalan gave up on this forum after that. He bashed out a mammoth post, probably the largest I've ever seen on this forum, must have taken him hours, and the response he gets?... Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Arsalan's post made some ripples through my consciousness. The liberties with agreed definitions of fundamentalism didn't mean much to me, but the sincere sharing of a sophisticated outlook did. Sandy, and the millions of other Islamophobes she represented here for us are not really impenetrable in their fearful generalizations about Muslims and world conflict. Wherever Sandy is, she cannot escape the realizations afterr a largely evangelical USAmerican campaign to kick ass for God and sort out the Mideast has nearly run its course. God and the Mideast have not responded as Sandy expected. She and those who have shared her outlook are in no way unassailable in their highly-polarized world-view. The extreme right (and extreme anything) has an embarrassing time persisting on forums like this, because these are records of worldviews and expectations that are either affirmed and materialized over time, or they are not. There is a collective psychological plane becoming more apparent through enhanced comunication, where there is confluence and conflict of awareness that is manifested in all our physical conflicts, and all our success at coexistence. We're all traveling together through the course of events, sharing an increasingly detailed collective narrative around the world, and this change is elevating all our pooled understanding. While some may resist or deny this tide of information and awareness, it impinges on them anyway. I believe that ripples of clear thought do spread ever outward, make themselves felt and in very subtle ways change us all, like the shaping of a seemingly unchangeable stone by water. Sandy wasn't completely impervious to what Arsalan had to say. She was exposed here to a detailed spectrum of beliefs and views of a depth and detail that I doubt she had experienced before, and she left here with plenty to think about.
that's right 100's of different religions all claiming to be the only true way, yea that's going to get mankind far....mankind believing in mankind, working for mankind,to improve existance for mankind is logical progress...mankind working within cultist confines, working seperately towards different goals all claiming to be the only true goal, and working to recruit others to believe, work for any one of these deities that the faithful keep their fingers xed exist's.... belief in man, not hope in myth
hmmm I didn't mean no religion would be better than islam, I meant no religion would be better than any.(sorry if came across wrong)
My apologies. It sounded as thought you meant islam had less BS. I think all are roughly equal in that regard, proportionate to human psychology.
So, what's wrong with calling those that blow up abortion clinics "Christian Extremists", and those that cut off peoples' heads for watching TV "Islamic Extremists"? They are both violently following their religion based off of their interpretations of antiquated texts.
