That doesn't really make sense, but.
How does "nothing" exist? When if it existed, it would be "something"?

I am not asking about "the existence of nothingness". I'm asking a perfectly valid question: why did the universe originate from nothing? You've claimed that by suggesting "the universe originated from nothingness" (whatever that may mean) gives no room for a question to be asked. I am asking you a valid question, thus making your proposition false.

As I've tried to make apparent to you, I can always ask "why".

O.K. So, you are explaining why strings remain at a fundamental length. But, you are also saying it is possible for strings to break down farther, but only that it would be energetically unfavorable. However, then you say smaller strings would have to travel faster than light in order to avoid becoming points. But, isn't it intuitive to believe a string smaller than a fundamental string would move faster than the fundamental string?

    I beg to differ.

Things don't move faster than light. So if a fundamental string was cut in half it's tension would be such that it's end points would have to move faster than light in order to prevent it contracting to a point. So it doesn't do that. So they don't split.
You can beg all you like there Chuckles, the fact remains you cannot do relativity. You can't even do basic algebra. If you 'beg to differ' I'll ask you a few questions expected of a student doing a 1st course in relativity. And I'm 104% certain you won't be able to do them.

    Up for it?

I'll give it a shot, and all I have done is A level physics.
    Watch me fail badly.

Of course then Reiku can show me how it's done.

Nothingness would have always existed. And its existence would be something.

You miss the point. Your question is less fundamental. The proposition that you can always ask why relates to an ever ending series of questions probing deeper and deeper into the fundamentals. Your question does not probe deeper into the fundamentals. It is more fundamental to ask why nothingness exists than to ask why did the universe originate from nothing.

Alphanumeric... give me 48 hours to compose a sheet containing relativistic formulaes and understanding into relativity. Then and only then, will you shut your face?

Oh no. I'm not falling into that trap. I often get mistakes in questions, usually math questions wrong. However, i can take alphanumeric through the work i have done. The work he says, ''i haven't.''

Just like you did for the formulae you do in school? Listing formulae (none of which were beyond A Level) doesn't mean you can do physics. Anyone with access to Wikipedia and an A Level formula sheet can do that.

If you know relativity, you should be able to answer questions on it, not just post lengthy BS essays on it. Why are you refusing to answer a few questions on it?

    /edit

And if you cannot do the maths, you cannot do relativity. Every course in relativity in every university is 90%+ maths and 10%< physical concepts. The fact you don't realise this proves you are a fraud.

And i am more than happy to recollect all my workings into a nice 6-8 paged work within the next 48 hours, if he wishes.

Oh believe me AN, they are beyond A-level.

    Alphanumeric\:

You once said i know nothing about relativity. Let this be a chance for me to prove you othewise, and when i say, i won't do math questions, is simply because your work will differ greatly from mine, or from what i know. I simply won't fall into a trap in which certain questions i cannot answer... and trust me, i get a lot of questions wrong.

    Suffice to say, i will do what i said;

''And i am more than happy to recollect all my workings into a nice 6-8 paged work within the next 48 hours, if he wishes''

And no... we are not talking about wiki. I don't even like wiki.

It really doesn't matter what you consider more fundamental - the fact that I've asked the question is enough. I think you're being obtuse.

Is that a ''no'' then AN?

All the equations you posted I covered in A Level.
It's not my view that relativity is almost entirely maths (well it is, but the view didn't originate with me), it's the view of the scientific community. Relativity groups are generally in maths departments. They are in Cambridge and Southampton. Relativity courses are taught by the maths departments. All the questions you'll get (example 1 2 3) are highly mathematical. Being able to wax lyrical about a concept doesn't mean you can 'do relativity'. Not by the definition of any university in the world.

And I don't expect you to answer EVERY question I give you. I'll just give you a large selection and you only have to pick a small number. Plenty of options for you then.
I don't wish it. As a 16 year old I once wrote a 4 page essay explaining why my teacher was wrong on something to do with black holes. It was all qualitatively correct but it was completely devoid of calculations and, now that I've done relativity a lot in university, I know just how far from 'doing relativity' I was.

I've seen enough of your essays and you throwing in your 2 cents into discussions to know you cannot do relativity. Show me a single thread where you 'do relativity'. I've never seen one.

You'd be right Steve, but possibly not for the reasons AN thinks.
