Why did Draqon get banned?

With as much as I like draqon and get a kick out of his posts, I don't disagree with his banning. Posting here and spending as much time here as he does is not healthy. He complains about not having any friends and not having a girlfriend, but he isn't going ot get any of those things here. We can consider him a friend, but how meaningful is an Internet friend? Nothing can supplant real 3 dimensional human interaction. I would like it if Draqon continued to come here and post, but it would be really cool to see him come here and say he has found a girlfriend, or found a hobby like jogging or bird watching. What Mods did may seem cold, but I don't think they would have done it if they didn't care about him.

I blame his parents. He should join a sport.

It's no use for him to try to get a GF. He has to much to say, and none of it means anything. Sure you will listen to him at 1st to be polite. But as soon as he wears out his welcome, noone will take any interest in what he has to say. That is why he comes here. People have to listen here. If they don't. he doesn't no.

Don't you hate those people that tell you somthing that has no meaning or value? It's like... why waste my time???

Thats why hes here. He gets his attention where he can.

She has nothing of value to say. I was nice to her at first to be polite, but as soon as she started being rude to everyone who disagreed with her, I stopped taking interest in what she had to say.

Don't you hate those people who offer up their two cents when no one cares what they think? Thats why she's here. Cause everyone in her real life treats her like shit, so she has to come here and try to act like she knows something. but really, she just bugs the hell out of all of us. She needs to get attention somehow though I guess.

 

I disagree with barbiegirl14, of course. draq isnt gonna get a girl like YOU. To me, he seems like a great guy that usually pretty funny, very interesting, but can sometimes impose his beliefs on others a tad much. I'm still laughing at the fact that you are saying that someone has nothing of value to say or that someone posts here to get attention or that nobody cares about what someone thinks.

Can someone explain why was Draqon here instead of serving cheeseburgers at McDonalds? After all he said he and his parents didn't have money and it looks like he wasted all his summer here...

I agree with Barbiegirl, (I know, the horror!!) it was his parents fault too. If they can't make a 21 year old work, something is screwed up...Most of my dogwalker friends' 16 year old daughters work during the summer.

Not to mention he runs away after 1 day ban? What kind of whiny-pussy er... I mean oversensitive kid does that???

 

I should probably avoid asking this but, why wasn't I included in that post? LA(in my opinion) didn't do anything worse than me :|.

Obviously Draqon was in need of some attention and well with his attempt to get it he was potentially alienating himself further, his absence is allowing him to get the attention he was after from members, I'm sure he doesn't want to spoil it but popping up and saying something to offend people.

Draqon, if you are out there listening in, I hope you aren't too unhappy about the reason you were banned, it was only 1 day, technically it could have been more but you really just needed a break, esp. with that sudden post increase. I'm hoping you've perhaps been able to re-analyse what your priorities are in life a little as well as find other activities to do. (I do mean run off and do something somewhere else, but you can have much to talk about if you don't have any anecdotes to share

I think Stryder should set up some posting quota. Here is my suggestion:

Posting quota per day = (Age - 15) x 2.

Means, if you're 21 years old (like draqon), your limit is: (21-15) x 2 = 12 posts/day
If you are 31 years old (like Enmos), your limit is: (31-15) x 2 = 32 posts/day
If you are 38 years old (like Shorty), your limit is: (38-15) x 2 = 46 posts/day
If you are 14 years old (like BG14), you should wait at least 2 more years to
post here. Go back to school, that is!

If possible, admin set this quota automatically like PM, where you can have
maximum of 200 PM only in your inbox. So when draqon already post 12 times
in a day, he should not be able to post again until the next morning.

Alternatively, this quota is accumulated into weekly quota. Means, if you
don't post anything during 5 working days, you can accumulate your posts in
the weekend. But if you don't use the quota, it should not be accumulated
into the next weekend.

Is that possible?

Why not simply age/2, or age/2.5, or whatever the mods/admins think is fitting ?

I doubt this will be implemented though.

 

It's possible to create such quota's, however it would slow the forum to a crawl. Admittedly it would obviously boost peoples posting in regards to quality, since you would be limited to how many posts you can make which would obviously stop so many wise cracks, one liners and of course abusers.

The Editing period is short as well though, so this obviously means people "Proofing" what they post far in advance of posting, which to be honest most don't. (Although it is a good habit to get into if you intend to further your education etc)

In fact I even suggested a Hack for the software in regards to this over at the Vbulletin forums but nobody ever bothered creating one. (I'd have to hack it up myself)
