In the West where our marriages are not arranged for us, most of us choose spouses whom we find at least comfortably attractive physically. When you're not looking for a movie star but just someone who looks nice, it's the kind of beauty that lasts. So even years later we still find our spouses attractive. I've been married for 30 years and my wife is 64, and she's still hot. Women have been acculturated to look for those flaws in themselves. We don't look for them in ourselves or in you, so we just don't see them. As others have pointed out, women dress and primp themselves for other women, not for men. We're happy with a much more natural look. A woman should not let a man dress her and make her up to go out and impress her businesswoman friends any more than a man should let his wife dress him for work. Are you kidding? Spongebob rules! To a certain extent, yes. But what you're really missing is this: Yes, we do regard all those hot babes as incredibly sexy. Nonetheless the rest of you are sexy too, even if not as sexy as them. Many of us are bright enough to understand that trading some of that sexiness for other qualities can make for a really wonderful life. After all, there's a limit to how sexy anyone has to be in order to trigger a satisfying erotic reaction. After all, above a certain age most sex is performed in the dark. My wife read somewhere that the most common fantasy during intercourse for both the man and the woman is to pretend that HE is someone else. Sexiness is not a static thing except for a few exceptional people. The way you move can be sexy. The way you handle yourself in situations. The expressions you make. Most humans have a strong verbal orientation. The way you talk--everything from your voice to your vocabulary--has a profound impact on your sexiness. Speak for yourself. I work with an Indian woman who is so Old World she wears ankle bracelets. Now that is really sexy. Most fashion designers are gay men. So naturally they design clothes that look best on 16-year-old boys, not women. If you're talking about truly obese, then sure that can be ugly. But just overweight is no automatic turnoff. Some big women are really curvaceous and the way they throw it around is a real turn-on. I've got one word for you: Shakira.

Oh you poor deprived soul! She's amazingly beautiful, astoundingly sexy and incredibly intelligent. She has a wonderful voice and a versatile singing style. She writes songs with erudite and witty lyrics. She's from Colombia and her father is Lebanese, her full name is Shakira Mebarek. She belly-dances in her concerts and videos and sings in Spanish and Arabic. Unfortunately the Hollywood machine has gotten hold of her and is remaking her into a typical video star, taught her English and has her singing trite ditties. Pretty much the same thing they did to Céline Dion, who is a wonderful singer in French. I saw Shakira perform live in 2002--all in Spanish--and it was one of the most memorable concerts of my life.

You're right. Obesity doesn't equate to to a total 'death sentence" in terms of being able to exude sexuality. There are also some that are large-ish and curvy, but I would debate on whether they can honestly be be classified along with those who are truly fat. ......but the point I was trying to make was about core "sexual preference" for one over the other. So maybe the "hot" woman is excessively career oriented, and somewhat humorless. Perhaps she has boring tastes in music, has no hobbies, or has a really annoying habit of over-dramatizing about spending money. Physically, she's mind bogglingly beautiful, healthy, and best of all ---- limber. I'm going to avoid going into more detail for the sake of keeping this discussion clean. Character traits are the sort of things to want in a friend. Ideally, I want my "lover" to have these characteristics to make us balanced as logical mates. Sexually, I want the lover to have traits that appeals to the carnal senses--- which isn't going to happen if I can barely wrap my arms around her, or can't reasonably hope to have her on top of me. Looking at her isn't going to arouse me if she looks like the Michelan man when naked - I don't care what sort of lingerie she's wearing. Footnote: To be honest, the only ugly characteristic I see for women is excessive fat. Asymmetry is actually pretty kind to them in most cases.
I watch the reality show about Hugh Hefner's girlfriends. They are so pretty and sexy. My husband finds them boring and stupid. Not a bit sexy. And he also finds most of the women today too skinny. Says it would be like being with a guy. I have seen sexy big women. Most of them understand they need to play up their best asset (boobs) instead of hiding them in an XXXL T-Shirt.
