I never said 64-bit wasn't the future. I have no idea what you are talking about. ATI released some very powerful products for low price. This is irrelevant if you onlu use nVidia.

Just a note, cause I just went through this. You want ACTIVE cooling on your NB and SB(if possible). Even without an overclock it is important for long term use for gaming.

This MOBO you picked has only heat sinks. Otherwise it does look to be a good board.

You are really gonna want active cooling on your Northbridge chip for that video card - no joke.

Haha well I am hoping that a case like the Antec 900 will take care of that

I look back at my build and I am seriously amazed how I barely pass the $1,000 mark and I have built a system that can pretty much play any present and future game at almost max.

I have the Antec 1200. No it doesn't help. You will need active cooling, even without an OC.

Luckily I see your motherboard comes with optional fans for your NB cooling. They are NOT optional. Install them. Seriously you want this mobo to last? Install the fan on your NB.

    Looks good I think.

I spent a summer working at Voodoo putting together Omens. They're way overpriced but you'd be surprised how much work goes into them. The cases are custom built and airbrushed on site for instance. The shipping box they come in even plays music when you open it.

Then they were bought by HP. Not sure if anything's changed since then.

If I worked there...security would all be asking me "Mitch, what's that 22" rectangle-shaped bulge under your shirt?"

    "hmmm...nothing." (runs for the door)

NF, I'd like to know a little more about that active cooling of the NB. I'm not exactly sure what the NB does, and why the vid card would make it hot. Mind filling me in a little more?

    Thanks,

Future proof until you find that DX11 requires a new chipset type lmao

Dude DX11 isn't coming out till I have a family or maybe grandchildren... And anyways even if it does I think I'll have a Voodoo Omen... Oh and by future proof I mean something that won't be out dated in a few years.

Ok well i'm not sure about ATI(which I think might be more southbridge using), but NB controls the RAM and video(PCI-E) on the bus with other components. So it's real important with thing's like games, which use lots of ram and lots of video card power. Even without OCing the NB with run hot(60c+++) with modern video cards and 4gig ram. Even with ATI cards I'd imagine.

Omen's are fine. But my case cost $65, and is an excellent build with sleek simple design..
