She is almost as embarrassing to Canada as Pam Anderson.

Her music is horrid but her story is quite interesting. Btw, did she divorce her rich producer husband?

Hmm. I thought that the West Edmonton Mall behemoth would have topped the list. Or that annoying "eh" at the end of sentenses... or the fact that you guys say "aboot" or that your heads strangely aren't attached from the mouths up.

I like old country music, the new stuff is completely brain damaging rubbish.

WEM is awesome, eh is a much better word then Huh? at the end of your sentence and I have NEVER heard ANYONE in Canada say "aboot", however the last part seems to be mostly true, but Americans aren't much better

I take it you never watched degrassi junior high.

I'd say it's more like white reggae. Like reggae it's purpose is to create an atmosphere, it all sounds similar yeah, and that's kind of the point, it's the perfect backdrop to sitting on a back porch in the day time drinking beer and looking at cows, maybe with the smell of meat grilling in the air. Everyone needs to try country in that context before they bag it.

Actually lission the music which was designed to sway political opinion (like a lot of LIVE's stuff) and compare it to C&W flat crap

Its boring, sad, and promotes a lifestyle in which ignorance and intolerance is touted.

Not all of it of course. The only country songs I can stand are the good drinking ones

Sure, but where do you hear that any more? The "classic country" radio stations play the homogenized crap from the 1970s. You have to go to a serious country bar with a good band, and they'll play the good old stuff. One of my friends plays in a country band, they play Hank Williams, Ray Price, Don Gibson, Ernest Tubb, all of it.
Exactly. And how many times in one hour do you hear a song with a pedal steel guitar on country radio today? Or a banjo?
I used to love country music in the 1950s, but then they started trying to appeal to city audiences (and I must say they were hugely successful at that) and the stuff just ain't been the same.
She's a country music star. Although she hasn't done much in a long time. She put a little too much dynamics into her music for most fans, some of her songs really rocked and some were just MOR ballads, but when she did country she did it perfectly. Her voice sounds like it's straight from the 1950s, even if she's from too far north to have the accent.
I do. "Black Eyes, Blue Tears," "You're Still the One," "Man I Feel like a Woman," "Don't Be Stupid," "Honey I'm Home." That's a great CD.
