I don't know where you ppl live but they must be gauging you on real estate if you can't find a house for 400,000-500,000. We live in the city, we are close to everything. We are looking to get out of the city and move up north more.
For 500,000-600,000 up north you could buy a mansion on some property.

Gujjus, not Punjabis. She said turban remember? And Ontario has oodles of Sardars, in some places even the street signs are in Punjabi

Or at least, thats what my friend whose sister married a Sardar in Ontario said to me.

Though come to think of it, Punju women wear salwar suits or lehengas, not sarees.

I have never seen a street sign in Punjabi...I am sure that there would be a hell of a lot of protests over that.

See you know all the fancy names for this attire, I don't. So I really have no idea what you are talking about with all these names you are throwing out. I am probably
    calling them the wrong things.

Real estate in Mumbai is mind boggling, I got an apartment for 500,000 there which is unbelievable in Indian rupees.

Maybe all I know is her sister is near Toronto.

edit: Or maybe she is the one near Vancouver.

Well that is like if you want to live in Toronto. You can get a tiny hole in the wall place and it will cost you 600,000, 700,000 +. Friends of Nietzche a lawyer and his wife bought this itty bitty place and it cost more then our house. They couldn't believe when they came over how nice our house was and huge compared to what they bought in Toronto.

I would be bored in a small town. There's nothing to do.

We don't live in a small town. The population is about 670,000.

Its not the people, its the kind of people. I like metropolitan cities, you can feel the energy, see a lot of diverse theater and art, go for humanities festivals and just walk down streets forever.

that's true. But meh, I like food but I can go day by day eating whatever is healthy and quick.

I think maybe you eat more than me??? And I cycle 40 min a day and workout 1 hour a day!

Brekkie: bagel, 1/2apple 1/2 pear 2 strawberry, 10 blue berry, 1/2 banana, full creme yogurt 4 spoons, muslei, 1 large coffee with coco, 1 bagel with creme cheese, 1 orange

Lunch water + natto (soy bean fermented - about 5 spoons)

Dinner - salmon with soy sauce and salt broiled, asparagus, mushroom fried in butter and Chinese broccoli steamed and served with oyster sauce + Green tea.

Not all Indians are "brown". Same goes for Pakistani's or "Muslims" for that matter. I knew an Indian guy who used to work with my mother who was fair, with light brown hair and green eyes.

That you may look at all "brown" people who may wear a sari, turban and classify them all as simply "Indian" reeks of ignorance and racism.

My husband and my children would kill me if I did. Curry of all types is very popular in our household. Especially our 18 month old.

Our children, thankfully, have a taste for and adore spicy food. We are blessed!

I guess property is worth more in other countries compared to where you live. At present, $500-$600k would probably only get you a small 3 bedroom house on a very small block that will usually be classified as a "renovator's delight".. meaning you'll need to redo everything in it... If you're lucky, it will have a garage or a carport..

Nope. My heritage is French, Dutch and African. I am classified as a creole in my birth country, which is not Haiti.

But Poor Indians allow themselves to be used as Microsoft b*tches. They are also dumb now for seeking the nano technology positions. The facts are: the nano technology harms the future more than assists. When everyone's fighting a cyborg or Morgellone's disease they get to thank India's weakness over standards of not abiding by the wholesome Ayurveda practice they could be known for?

India has quite some of the best food and healing practices though.

Similar to when you wear a long dress or coat. You hold it up when you walk so that your feet don't get caught in it... Tell me, do your feet undress you often when you wear a long dress?
