I have just come back from a great night at the pub where we were drinking beers of the world and now feeling slightly jet lagged. Being Australian, I am partial to a beer or two and a good Cabernet Merlot and an odd Jack Daniels and a good percolated coffee.... So, you're in your comfort zone and feelin' good after a hard day's work, study or holiday or after doing nothing and you go out or just stay home and tune into SF or turn on the TV, stereo or ipod and you just chill out and reach for your favourte beverage. What is it and what do you eat or snack with that drink? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
Ah, anything except Advocaat, really, one must have standards. If I'm out, I like a good ale, a nice dark, tasty, and not gassy proper English beer. Unless it's sunny (rare in England) in which case I like a premium lager, pref imported. Or, a nice long Gin and Tonic. At home, well red wine is the tipple of choice, Cab Sauv, Merlot, Shiraz, Zinfandel, something with a bit of flavour. I also like the occasional brandy, or single malt whisky, usually in Winter. I normally have a bottle of Vodka in store too, (in the freezer) and appreciate that with a variety of mixers. I'm resting from booze at the moment, a pre-festive season hiatus, so my non-boozy fave drink has to be no sugar ginger beer. Makes me fart, but with three dogs, they go unnoticed. Snacks, well, I like savouries, so dry roast peanuts, or hand cooked crisps, although too much crunching means I can't hear the dialogue in films, so I think nuts have the edge there.
Water is my favorite drink but I also enjoy sipping good brandy, B&B to be exact, then natural apple juice, unfiltered of course, some hot coco with whipped cream on cold days and sake when at a sushi restaurant.
Alcoholic? Guinness or Jack Daniels. Jack knows all my secret thoughts. Non-Alcoholic? NOS, followed by water and then milk. 375 mgs of caffeine in a bottle, yummy.
LOL! I think I'll try that, the Ginger Beer that is, I don't have 3 dogs, but any flatulence will go unnoticed among the weird and wonderful smells of my 2 teenage sons Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!

i drink all sorts (beer, wine and spirits) but my favorite drink period is irish coffee. The way i make it is make up a black coffee, let it cool slighly so that the achole wont evaporate and put a shot of irish wiskey into it and then use bailey's insted of milk. (1)Coffee in various blends, flavors & mixtures with various additives & (2)whiskey, rarely straight, usually mixed simply with cola and/or "ginger ale" & (3)genuine ginger ale. I wish I could afford a bit more whiskey. I sometimes accept other liquor drinks when offered. I don't like wine or wine coolers. US beer seems to me to be made from piss. Good beer is too expensive for me but I have tried & liked some imports such as Murphy's Stout & Altenmuenster. Life would be significantly worse for me with no coffee or no whiskey. I liked "ginger ale" as a child & had no way of knowing it's not really ginger ale. I am glad I found out & was able to enjoy the great taste of genuine ginger ale. I drink a good bit of water not because I like it but for better health. Usually bottled water that claims to come from some spring. I don't really like it or dislike it. I nearly forgot snacks. I often drink coffee and/or whiskey alone but often also with whatever I happen to be eating, sometimes meals & sometimes snacks. 1111

I think slimy pond scum is close. My grandma went through a phase where it was a miracle cure-all. I like tap water. Not ice water, not bottled water. Tap water. I like shots of Southern Comfort and for a mixed drink, a Kamikaze. My favourite beer is Mickey's or PBR. I hate wine and champagne.

interesting, you know the two you missed? Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Yarra valley and the mornington pinintular wines (both victorian) Im a HUGE fan of wines produced in the Yarra Valley because they are cold climate wines, the sharaz (my fav reds i might add) produced there have this really strong peppery flavor which you just dont get in SA or NSW wines. There is a lovely shiraz viogner produced by Yarra Burn winery which is my favorite wine. However its terribly expensive to buy in SA so i dont get it often. The same is true of the whites there, they are almost as acitic as lemon juicePlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image! Semllion Chard again produced in the yarra Valley are so dryPlease Register or Log in to view the hidden image!
