    I missed this little tidbit:
    Go learn some physics, please. The Earth is in nearly uniform circular motion about the Sun. This means the Earth is constantly accelerating toward the Sun. The force between the Sun and the Earth *must* be attractive.

    ============

    Alfvén was awarded the Nobel Prize in physics "for fundamental work and discoveries in magneto-hydrodynamics with fruitful applications in different parts of plasma physics". Magneto-hydrodynamics is very important for describing what goes on in and near the Sun and why Earth has a magnetic field.

    Alfvén was not awarded a Nobel prize in physics for explaining why the Earth orbits the Sun. You have not justified the claim.

    Show me the math.

    The key item is in bold. The Earth in its orbit around the Sun is not one of those certain conditions in which "electromagnetic forces are much stronger than gravitation." Those conditions are a small charged particle: an ion. The Earth is just a tad bigger than an ion.

    Please calculate the strength of the Sun's magnetic field needed to attract the Earth to the extent needed to make it accelerate sunward at 5.93 millimeters/second[sup]2[/sup].

    Show me the math.

    I'll miss him - no really!

    he was a woo woo of the very highest order and as such he could provide some great entertainment.

    I think we should let him back and give him his own little sub forum within pseudoscience to post in.
