The violin, based on the fact you pretty much sound crap until you're around grade six.

I've been playing guitar for about four years now and, despite what the OP says, it didn't take me long after I'd first started lessons to be able to hammer out a decent-sounding song. Piano is much the same in that it's not too difficult to become a competent beginner. Although it goes without saying that it takes a lot more skill to advance through the theory and the more complicated techniques.

Agreed. Played trumpet for 2 years and never was there a single moment that I enjoyed it.

I've played a 12 string...not so much harder than a guitar. Bending requires more dexterity but otherwise it's fairly the same thing as a guitar.

Sounds great though, great for playing middle eastern sounding pieces.

I find the drums really difficult to play and you have to be SOOO precise!

Over the Summer, I was reading a music magazine when I came across an article having to do with musical instruments that people have made, whether they were modified instruments of today or instruments they have created. One of the instruments was this weird looking flat board filled with tons of circuits, closely resembling the walls of Britney Spear's anamoatronic phalapsy. When the dude waved his hand over this device, it made this really far-out sound, and it was awesome. When looking at this article, I realized that these type of instruments will soon dominate the musical industry... well, hopefully after I am dead that is. It stinks that I am not able to find the article, or exact instrument, but when you told us about the final project, I thought about that article, and decided that I wanted to make a Laser Harp. I didn't know that there was such a thing already made until looking it up on google, but I am doing it anyways. And since I don't have that other article, I am just going to show a video of a laser harp.
