Nope. Then again, I wouldn't call the rejuvination (misspelled, I'm sure) of this thread a miracle.

    BTW, merry Christmas.

    Notes around

Tony1--Now that is a witty line I can appreciate. No necessary bite, it's well-placed, and very few people would have thought to make it.

Xev--Honestly, just stop and think of your Greek, Latin, and other roots, especially as you've come to know them in modernity. Technically it's rejuvenation, but the only reason I stop to point that out is because I know that if you stopped to think of "juvenile hall", you would have answered your own issue about the spelling.

In general--Days like this make me wish I could still tolerate the idea of being a Christian. Then I could say something like "Christ on a pony!" or "For the love of Christ!" or "Jesus H. Baldheaded Fucking Christ!"

In other words, For fuck's sake! How does this topic still live?!

    thanx,
    Tiassa

    A compliment.
    Wow!
    Thanks, tiassa.

    It doesn't.
    It's a zombie topic.
It started out as a real topic, and now it's just a hollow shell of a topic, animated by some unknown force.

The people who claim to be atheists while knowing full well they really are going to have to explain themselves to God, i.e. most atheists.

LOL! Its funny cause its true. I think that most atheist still believe in God if only to cover their asses. Maybe not out in the open, maybe more of a psychological thingy.

Wow this thread is a year old. Somebody brought it back from the dead! Happy Easter!

They probably do, however, believing in that way will serve to make everything worse in the end.

The only plausible excuse I can think of is to have some form of brain damage that makes it impossible to form thoughts about God.

Perhaps, but as Americans we live in a God-saturated culture. The exclamation "oh God" means that an athiest is a closet theist if and only if the expression "after sunset" means that one is a geo-centrist.

    Tony:
Why now, if nothing else, listening to Acheron makes one think of God - albeit in an uncomplimentary light. *Laughs* I suppose death metal is like the exact opposite of CCM.

But seriously, yes. Through whatever reason, one never feels the presence of God.

    Speaking of Acheron

I was always kind of a fan of Candlemass. Messiah Marcolin's voice was, well, unique in its own right. They had a great song about ten years ago called "The Bells of Acheron". Just popped to mind.

It's more likely that some theists are the ones who are brain-damaged. After all, they seem to be suffering from delusions; seeing things that no one else can see. The rest are simply agreeing because it's what they've been taught and their belief structure relies upon such delusions. It's like the story of the Emperor's new clothes:

The story, being a rather powerful insight to human nature, has been told by many cultures:

For all your exclamations that the Emperor's clothes are wonderous we atheists perceive that the Emperor is, in fact, naked.

Or you could think the other way around.

I dont think that it works that way, Zero. See you would have to believe in God first and then... Okay, yeah it could work that way.

my frend is the biggest atheist, but he refuses 2 admit it.
i call him "you atheist" all the time.

i jus find it funny that he refuses 2 accept is true nature despite all the worst symptoms:
he gets irritated at any mention of religion or God.
he cant stand the phrase "oh god".
he complains whenever any religous subject is brought up.
he goes absolutly bonkers upon witnessing any public display of religion.
how much more atheist can u get?
