I had 2 boys and 3 girls. A friend of mine said something once . Rather amusing, but true. With a boy , you only have to worry about one dick. With a girl you have to worry about every dick in the world
You say that now because you don't have a little girl, that you love to death and would do anything for and it would break your heart to see her unhappy whether or not you could do something about it. A man at the center told my male co-worker that the other day when he said he didn't understand how a father couldn't say no to his daughter. Apparently this guy thought the same thing before he became a parent. My dad thought he was being tough on me, but if that was his intention he failed miserably.
I have a female Boxer and two other male dogs. Marley(the boxer) doesn't get any preferential treatment. I don't scold her as brashly as I do the male dogs, but that's only because she's not quite as rambunctious or overbearing as the males. She tends to listen a little bit better. I don't see it being any different with human children. Sounds like that man at the center is a freakin retard. Being unable to say no to your daughter(or even son) is the exact stupid mentality that I'm talking about that will spoil your child and cause them to grow up to be a brat/douche bag. Her being unhappy because of something valid, is one thing. Her being unhappy/whiny bitchy because I wouldn't buy her this or that or take her here or there is another.
While I love my dog to death, I think that having a child is a little different. Being a Daddy's girl doesn't necessarily mean you're spoiled rotten to the core. I think it's more so the close relationship that a girl might have with her father whether he buys her whatever she wants or just spends a lot of time with her or still lets her sit on his lap even though she's 21 Please Register or Log in to view the hidden image!. I think it's about the relationship not the stuff.
Yup... You also don't have to explain to your dog that he should have sex only when he feels ready, or that just because his friends all shoot up an unknown substance doesn't mean he should do it too.
Yes but did you not note, the other examples I had of a father who posses that special relationship with his daughter? I was saying that a spoiled brat who's father buys her whatever she wants is only one type of Daddy's girl. (But if the girl who gets whatever she wants, her might just be buying her off because they don't actually have a relationship.) I've been thinking though, I cannot remember a single instance in my entire life when my father said "no" to me. I'm spoiled in the fact that I take everything my mother did for me for granted, but I wouldn't really consider myself a spoiled brat/ whiny bitch.
A special relationship? Seems kinda redundant, doesn't it? If you're a good parent to your children, and love them, you should have that 'special' relationship with any and all of them, girl or boy. If they were an only child, I'm sure there would be a special relationship between myself and my child, girl or boy. If I had more than one child, I will have a special relationship with all of them. I'm not going to play favorites. I don't play favorites with my dogs (I love them all equally) and I won't with my children.
By special relationship, I meant a relationship that only some daughters and father have, not all fathers and daughter are really close, I was angry with my dad for quite some time, so we didn't have that special relationship until I grew up. Even if you're a good parent you may not be very close to your kid for personality or interest reasons or whatever.

I started it? I didn't start mincing around like Joann in Rent bursting out with, "You got a prize, so don't compromise!/ You're one lucky baby!"
