I said criminals and criminal aliens. I am neither. My family has been here forever. We have greatly enriched this country, not sucked her dry, slandered her, or denied her greatness.
Immigrants who come here illegally should be the first to go. Legal immigrants are fine.

why offer solutions for someone else's problem when you have not been asked to solve it for them ?
it not only makes no real sense but goes against the american way.
being able to solve such a problem is worth an easy 10 million US dollars so doing so for free would undermine the economy for starters.

Most Americans don't even recognise this factor. I wonder how many of them noticed the drop in fruit and vegetable quantity since the clampdown on immigrants.

From what I heard in a congressional hearing in California, farmers were only making available 10% of their full produce because inspite of advertiisng they couldn't get anyone to help pick them

it is probably the biggest and most disgraceful act after the enslavement of Africans and the genocide of native Americans but it is impolite to mention in "good company".

all those good home country true blooded patriotic american farmers breaking employment laws hiring illegal workers till they are building their own slum city's with no health care or hospitals or schools.

strange kinda way to behave but who said they were "good people" in the first place ?

after all evil is not "what you do" but "what you say" isn't it?

The farmers have plenty of legal immigrants to do the work. They don't need criminal aliens.

I would teach people that they are voting with every dollar they spend and that if they unify, instead of being dispersed and weak like a blunt tip, they have the power to change whatever they like in the economic and political sphere.

    How to fix Americas problem?

Cut our corporate taxes lower than China.

Cut the individual tax rates in half as a minimum starting point, preference for a flat tax.

Good idea - so what about the budget deficit that the tax cuts would create?

So your family has been floating around for 4 billion years or so?
some of us would beg to differ.

"We have greatly enriched this country, not sucked her dry, slandered her, or denied her greatness. "

i think we found a few more laws just here.
"denying Americas greatness" now not only a crime but one worthy of deportation.

SANDY, a serious question for you.
once all the farmers who hire illegal workers have been sent back to england or europe who is going to take ownership of their farms ?

do you suggest the state owns them (socialism) ?

serious question number 2. considering north America has aprox(estimated) 4 million mexicans where will you find all the manual labour workers who are prepared to work for just enough money to pay for food but no health care and no education ?

    kmguru
i would cut all politicians salaries back to a flat rate of $30,000.00 per year and watch the senate be populated by mexicans haha

The real solution is producing goods again while keeping subsidized goods imports out of the way for at least 5 years. That is a short term remedy for the greater good. Granted China will howl, but a tapered off imports could let them adjust to increase their domestic consumption.

Better yet, make a law to balance the trade deficit starting in 60 days. Meaning you import what value you export. So if China wants us to buy their crap, they have to buy our crap equally.

That is the best way. There is a slow reckoning of this in the economists circles and perhaps white house (National Export Initiative)

well sandy and norses ideas would have one effect, ie the compleate and utter collaps of the US economy.

To address them seprately norse if you cut services you end up with a greater number of people staving on the streets, you think ANYONE even the right would surport that? If you minimise it you end up with generations of people stuck on welfare because of intergenerational disadvantage. Further more you would end up with economic collaps alot quicker as the costs of transport rise because roads fall into disrepare, the postal services fall apart, people lose confidence in there food and water surplie ect. Ie your way leads to rebellion and civil war

Sandy, you need to INCREASE migration not decrease it. Have you ever herd of the TRUE trickle effect? (not the argument that if you give money to the ritch it magically helps the poor). Migration INCREASES avilable jobs because people need services, housing, food ect From memory its 10 to 1 but im not sure on this. So for every extra person brought in 10 more people need to be employed to provide the services they need from doctors, to supermarket employees, to builders ect.

Further more whats the current US birth rate and adverage age? If you dont have an equal number in all parts of the lifespan then eventually the economy will collaps. It will take longer if you increase migration but as people age they become less productive (economically, not socially) which means that the ecomonmy cant surport this aging population

It's called charity. People in the US are very charitable, and when they get over this "government needs to babysit us" mentality, they'd be even more charitable. The Salvation Army brought in a revenue of about $500 million in 2009.

The free market means that the people have to solve problems entirely through their own co-operative, voluntary efforts. If things suck, then it's their fault, and they need to fix it. And contrary to what you may think, there are alot of good people out there and there are alot of neighborhoods with neighborhood programs out there. People need to get up and get active, not resort to more bureaucracy and babysitting.

More spending is not only bad for the economy, but it's immoral, it's anti-liberty, and it creates an attitude of apathy. The US Constitution was designed specifically to limit the Federal government and allow people to be free.

I propose we make government employees and retirees live no better than those who pay their paychecks. That means, pushing all federal pensions into Pension Benefit Guarentee Corporation- that is what happens when a company goes bankrupt. That also means that medical insurance for federal workers vanishes.

Let's just stop using federal funds to pay for medical insurance period - that includes all federal retirees and current federal workers including congress. That will eliminate about half the budget. That is what workers in private industry has seen occur. There is no reason federal employees should be exempt. This will reduce federal spending by about half.

So if you are a serious Republican/conservative, how can you not support this initiative? All of you conservative/Republican ex federal employees like Dick Cheney, George I and George II and members of congress should hop on to this idea in a heart beat!

How about, instead of that, we just cut that Federal program altogether and reduce the number of Federal employees by 75% or more?

Not to mention abolishing Social Security and the other aspects of the New Deal that are still around.
