Fox News has been making a lot fuss over the Muslim cultural center near Ground Zero citing many issues including the funding of the cultural center. It turns out the guy who owns a good piece of Fox News also is contributing to the cultural center...strange.

Why does Fox forget to mention that this Arab they accuse of funding terrorists is also an owner of Fox News. I makes you think, doesn't it?

This is really good video from John Stewart.

Should all those who are protesting the Muslim cultural center near ground zero boycott Fox News?

Ah, joe? how is being a share holder in Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. as Saudi prince Al-Waleed bin Talal is, is having Fox funnel money to Rauf and his Mosque?

Every time News Corp pays a dividend, Rauf gets more funding for his mosque.

But News Corp is not FOX News, James, Fox News is a subsiderary and make no direct payment to Al-Waleed bin Talal.

You cannot be serious. Everything that is Fox News is owned by News Corp. Every cent made by Fox News belongs to News Corp. And since News Corp is owned in part by the same Saudi prince who is funding the much disputed Muslim cultural center, I think you people who support Fox are caught in another contradiction.

By supporting Fox, you are supporting the guy who you claim is funding terrorists.

I think you guys should stop patronizing Fox News if you want to be consistent with your espoused principals.

So, only indirect payments, then. Ok.

Do you think that Fox News should disclose that they are indirectly funding the mosque when they have commentators "reporting" on the story?

So truth be told, Fox News is funding not only this Arab prince whom Fox followers claim is funding terrorists but also the Republican Party. Isn't that a hoot.

LOL, you guys on the right wing, supporters of Fox, don't seem to appreciate the contradictions in your positions.

This is not about left or right, it is about consistency and clarity of thought. It is about living your values in an honest and consistent maner.

What makes this story funny is imaging what you would be saying if Saudi prince Al-Waleed bin Talal was one of the largest shareholders of CNN's parent company.

Possibly so: although, if Fox had given in to the apparent conflict of interest and not reported on the mosque's funding issue, wouldn't that also have been a violation of the (purported) consistency of the values of journalism?

I think there is a difference between simple reporting and fueling the flames. And to be fair, they should have disclosed the fact that the same aledged funder of terrorism is also collecting wealth from Fox viewers. So by viewing Fox, they are contributing to terrorist funding - if you buy the claim that this Arab prince funds terrorism around the globe.

Yes; but do you call this fueling the flames? Frankly MSM reporting has been biased overall in favour of it. Which flames are being fueled?

    Agreed.

    Possibly so.

But it doesn't detract from the central questions revolving around Rauf et al, which are steadily becoming more involved.

Yeah, perhaps we need a law ....the person or group that yells "I'm right and you're wrong!" the loudest wins the contest and gets to have their way, the opponents must cease and desist with any and all comments.

Same with, say, demonstrations ...the demonstrations with the most, loudest people wins the contest and all other have to quit commenting on that particular issue.

    Or perhaps sanctioned, public duels?

Read what you wrote in your post above, then see if you can't make the connection. If you can't, then it's no big deal.
