ha I like the way Israel instantly knows that actually this leak isnot good for them as it shows how mean they really are.... so that twat mark regev has already stated how many unprecedented..blah blah blah concessions the isrealis have made which the PA have rejected. I wonder what the massive blah blah blah israeli concessions were?

Meanwhile: I realize that all the usual armchair revolutionaries are thrilled that whoever leaked this was obviously taking aim at the right-wing Israeli/US narrative that the PA isn't willing to negotiate seriously. But at the same time, do you realize that the party most damaged by this leak is exactly the PA's peace negotiators? This cuts them off at the knees, credibility-wise, both with respect to Palestine (and Hamas), and in regard to Israel and the rest of the world. This is a nail in the coffin of any prospect of a negotiated solution with Palestinian input. But anything that makes a great-power intervention to punish Israel is worth it, right? Even if it further diminishes the actual propsects for Palestinian self-determination, peace, etc.
No this has nothing to do with Israel's tactics working and everything to do with the fact the palestinians unlike their thug oppressors are willing to make sacrifices in the name of peace. the palestinians have always made offers like this but Israel has always rejected them because the palestinian gave them and than asked for something equal( or sometimes something unequal like a simple recognizition of their legal rights) in exchange.
That's just good negotiating, isn't it? Israel is in a stronger position, so they will eventually get what they want. (I realize this is hardly based on a comprehensive study of the newly released information).

Indeed. But eventually the worm turns. :m: Sadly the PA has been emasculated and hobbling for more than a while. Serious negotiation requires a united Palestinian front. Israel is complicit in creating and sustaining division. The Palestinians need to rise above this and sort themselves out. Its not punishment that is required, but real pressure re sincere negotiations. :m:
