Maybe if we had just stayed in Afghanistan...

Anyway, one interesting side effect of the mad Bush march into Iraq is the Arab Spring, which some are saying would never have happened if Saddam was still in power. I wonder about that though...the tech was there, it might have just happened differently.

Arab Spring would have happened even if Saddam was still around. After all Iran is still what it is, Syria is still holding strong etc. Would the Tunisians have really thought twice about rioting simply becasue Saddam was sitting in his palace several hundred miles away?

Obama said if the stimulus were allowed to lapse, we would end up firing teachers and firefighters and that's exactly what happened. Obama can no longer be the sole person responsible for the economy now that the inmates are controlling the asylum (the House).

Sad but true, if George II would have taken Bin Ladin out at Tora Bora and not taken his revenge public with the invasion of Iraq, Bin Ladin would not have been the expense he turned out to be for the nation.

Unfortunately either George II's incompetence or his desire to keep Bin Ladin alive as a boogeyman to assist in his relection has cost the nation dearly.

The wars are a big waste of money. Clinton should have taken bin Laden out when he had the chance. Save us some trillions...

While I agree that those wars weren't in Americas best interest because of Bush's lies about weapons of mass destruction being in Iraq and Bin Laden in Afghanistan the money spent , most of it, went back into American weapons manufacturers pockets as well as American contractors there. True allot went into Iraq to rebuild it but that's only a fraction of what the American arms dealers were paid.

Our econ is in the toilet. Housing is in the pits. Unemployment is up to 9%!! Obama is a complete and utter failure.

Then why are we paying $5 for a gallon of gas???

Do you not understand how the oil process works? Just because there's oil there doesn't mean gas prices instantly come down. There's the drilling process acquiring permission etc. etc. Any new drilling takes at least 5-10 before you will see any difference at all in gas prices, and who knows what that difference will be.

Correction, our economy was in the toilet in January of 2009 when President Obama was sworn into office. The economy was contracting and nearly a million Americans were loosing their jobs each month.

That is no longer the case. The economy is out of recession and by your own posts have proven that employers are now hiring instead of firing. As previously pointed out, the up turn in uemployment was expected and is expected when employers start hiring...more people start looking for work and therefore are counted as unemployed.

Our economy is no longer in the toilet. It is growing faster than any of our European allies by several fold.
If you have been paying attention to oil prices recently, they have been falling. They are now under a 100 dollars a barrel. I expect gasoline prices will fall in the coming months. As this recent price spike was fueled by unwarranted speculation in the futures markets.

We have wanted to drill our own oil for years but the liberals will not have it. They want us riding bikes and driving stupid, little electric cars. Bush wanted to start drilling more of the Gulf and ANWR the day after he was sworn in. The liberals had a fit and blocked him. 5-10 years is nothing. IF we had started when Bush wanted to in January 2001 we would have been there by now.
