I'm interested in experimenting with life forms in certain activities, such as genetic modification. Is there a program that I could use to simulate life forms, and edit them?

I recall a program called Darwin Bots (I think was the name). Tended to be a little buggy, but was quite interesting when you got into it. The 'genetic syntax' wasn't very difficult but I am unsure about how accurately it models/emulates an actual biological system. Worth checking out, though.

This program seems interesting if you're interested in tinkering with biochemical pathways....
