No, they should be awarded for thier calmer and better demeanor and better social actions by having better rights than humans.

In critical thinking the mistake you just made is called "slippery slope". Seek it up.

I made no mistake. The mistake was yours in thinking I made a mistake. I said what meant and meant what I said.
Whose to say carrots don't feel pain?
Should we kill all the lions because they cause pain to the "food" they kill? Where does it stop?

Plants don't have a central nervous system, mammals do.
    You made a mistake.

How do you know plants don’t feel pain? That's the question. Is your understanding of things that feel pain, must have a "central nervous system"? I think you'd find evidence to the contrary.

It stops here and now - by killing lions you would only cause pain. Humans have the capacity for ethics. Sadly too few are more advanced in their reasoning than other primates.

Those who have a central nervous system feel pain as one entity. Not a mere counterreaction of independent cells or parts.

I've been messing with you. Carrots if they feel pain, have yet to show it. Why do you feel animals were put here in the first place?

Before I go on, yes I have a problem with animals being used for expeirments. Yes, I feel if your gonna kill it, you'd better eat it. To kill an animal for it's fur is WRONG unless it's gonna be included in a nice carrot and rabbit stew [did i hear that carrot scream as it hit the hot water...?

You've been messing with your projection of my person in your own brain, not more, not less.
    ---
Evolution. Property of atoms to gather in more complex structures.
The difference between a crystal and an animal is not from what they are made of, but in the complexity.

I could eat a human child as easily as a duck. Except for the thing that I dislike the taste of poultry. Haven't tasted human yet though.

Because research has shown that plants lack a central nervous system, and to feel pain, you require nerves and a nervous system.

Whose research? And the question was - Can a "thing" with no central nervous system feel pain?

    dkb218:

That's not what PETA is advocating, at all. Maybe you should take a look at their web site.

I already did agree with PETA. Maybe not on every single thing, but for the most part they are absolutely right.

well for one, animals never harmed people, unless random mountain goat massacres took place, and the media kept it a hush-hush story.
But, some humans deserve the penalty of death for their actions inflicted upon other human beings.
Yes, I would much rather kill a terrorist rather than a frog.
I would kill hundreds of terrorists, with strong evidence against them, in such a macabre way that you would be sick to your stomache if you heard these ideas............rather than a fucking worm.

PETA started with good intentions but go on to extreme levels that obstruct the real point. I'm organizing a protest...without PETA locally over the death of animals that could have, should have been evacuated from a PETCO store. There are right ways to protest and wrong ways. PETA has lost their marbles when it comes to their protests, totally!!! FYI: nearly a hundred pets died when they should have been evacuated during the floods of the east coast...in 1 store alone. PETCO is trying to blame the village, but the village ordered evacuations early enough and no human lives were lost as of right now.
