How much stronger can an artificial humanoid be than a human, assuming it is the same mass and volume? I want my pathetic human slaughtering murder machine to have the maximum power allowed by physics.

I assume this is the same question as: by how much can other chemical processes of extracting useful energy exceed the kind the human body uses?

German industrial robot manufacturer KUKA Robotics has created the world’s largest and strongest robot. The KUKA KR 1000 titan 6-axis robot has a total of nine motors, which together deliver the power of a mid-sized car, giving it a payload capacity of 1000 kg. Combined with its reach of 3.2 meters and its ability to withstand a static torque of 60,000 newton meters (Nm), the Titan is ideally suited for bridging distances of up to 6.5 m and ensuring precise handling of objects such as engine blocks, stone, glass, steel sections, components for ships and aircraft, marble blocks, and precast concrete parts.

“This new robot can be implemented in applications which until now required at least 2 robots, lift stations or other lifting equipment thus saving valuable floor space and increasing efficiency," said Stuart Shepherd, president of KUKA Robotics Corporation. “Its payload capacity gives production planners the speed and dynamics they previously only dreamed of.”

The only limits are the limits set by the strength of materials (likely steel) and the power available from the power delivery system (likely hydraulics if you want high power.) So think forklift or small bulldozer.

Plus the leverage available/ designed in.

Right. But there are effectively no limits to how much leverage you can use. Want to crack diamonds? Long arm on the piston, short action arm. Want to swing arms around super fast? Short arm on piston, long action arm.

What about a human sized robot able to run at 70mph and deadlift a few tonnes? Is stuff like that physically impossible, or just not yet achieved?

Leverage helps, but without raw power, your range of capabilities becomes limited (eg: something really strong, but really slow, or vice versa). Chemical energy has a limit, I'm sure, but I'm not exactly clear on what that is, only that nuclear is somewhere in the region of 3 orders of magnitude above it.

Humans don't use the most powerful (per mass) chemical process do we?

The terminator was only designed to look like us because it was designed to kill us via subterfuge.

a robot cannot be stronger how can a robot be stronger:scratchin:

    Huh? Of course it can.

It's been explained in the thread.

in the thread there is not one piece of evidence that can sway me into thinking a robot is stronger:shrug:

    Oh, sorry.
We don't cater to irredeemably dumb posters here.

What are your specific objections to the idea that a robot could be stronger?

you are making one line comments that show no significance toward a stronger robot i have not seen nor encounter a stronger robot

    Then you're not reading.
    Stronger materials.
    More power.
    Better leverage.

    And I'll ask again:
All you've presented as an objection so far is "I don't believe it". Presumably based on ignorance.

    First one I found:
    http://www.gizmag.com/go/7425/

Can lift a 1000kg. I want to see you do that.

To say that a robot cannot be stronger than a human is ludicrous.

a robot is built they have no minds they are created my man hence they cannot be stronger try weighing this with an open mind and omit science from your minds which i think is clearly letting you think that a robot is stronger

Having a mind or not does NOT determine strength.

Science (technology) proves that we can build a stronger robot: as ALREADY shown. Read post 2.

So you haven't actually read the thread at all.
And you haven't actually thought either.
You just decided to post nonsense because... why? You're a troll? An idiot?
