How does the poll relate to your question or thread title?

What happens to you after death?
    It depends.
If you've been good you get a free trip Disnyeland.
If you've been bad you also get a free trip to Disneyland. But they don't let you out.

At least once a week, I guess. Sometimes more often. And not just when I see or hear about death, so you don't have an option for me to vote for.
I suggest you add the option "Sometimes" or something similar.

Edit: You are probably unable to edit it by now. If you want such an option added just ask me

Oh, and also, could you expand on the title?

I think about death as often as I reflect upon life, since the two are part of the same equation. I think about life all the time.

    Why?
You'd be the first person ever to not die if this is the case.
Don't worry about it, I can assure that at some point you will, whether you have the answer or not.

Life is like an old - time dot matrix printer ribbon: once, then done. No pie in the sky when you die, and you will most likely not even know what hit you when you go.

It behooves us all therefor to enjoy what we have now and appreciate our time here and those that we travel with as we go.

Welcome to SciForums, Spark. I hope that you enjoy your' stay here with us.

Why even worry, just live your life the best you can and do what you can for your fellow human. It is better to worry about the here and now rather than the hereafter.

When your bones are old and weary, think of those (your grandchildren, perhaps) whose lives are more precious to you than your own. All your concern will be for their future. You need not fear that the world will be a worse place without you; it will still be full of life of which your own had been a fraction of minutest degree. Death is very unimportant; you will have no regrets about your own after you've gone.

In the context of a noncritical (commonsense) realism, where the general properties or forms and specific appearances of conscious experience are made independent of perception and cognition. . . your death would thus be the termination of the latter phenomenal manifestations, thoughts, and memories as formerly ascribed to you. Since your brain, as the source for such presentations, ceases to be a functioning organ.

This would likewise be an outcome in a natural-order scheme applicable to most of the sciences, except for possibly theoretical physics. Where one encounters a variety of strange possibilities, like perhaps the history of your body being perpetually retained and embedded in some spacetime structure along with everything else. Actually, this spirals-off into philosophy of time arguments territory, which long preceded the developments of Galileo, Newton, and Einstein.

In the context of systems that subsume commonsense realism and the natural-order under a higher-level conception or classification stratum, you might at least obtain a lack of certainty or agnosticism about "what happens to you after death". The results of Immauel Kant's critique of theoretical reason would be an example of this, where the rules that experience or conscious representation and thought conform to become only applicable to such and the empirical world they exhibit / are about. Rather than to perception- and knowledge- independent existence (things in themselves, the noumenal world, ultimate reality, etc).

I expect there are others who are also curious.

Several, but not from any who are on the other side of the great divide.

    Statistically, you may be mistaken.

    To what purpose?

The concepts of comfort as you relate to them now, may not apply after death.

    Like massive boulders,
    mountains pressing against the sky,
    moving in from all sides,
    crushing the four directions,
    so aging and death
    come rolling over living beings:
    noble warriors, priests, merchants,
    workers, outcastes, & scavengers.
    They spare nothing.
    They trample everything.

Here elephant troops can hold no ground,
    nor can chariots or infantry,
nor can a battle of wits
    or wealth win out.

    So a wise person,
    seeing his own good,
    steadfast, secures confidence
in the Buddha, Dhamma, & Sangha.

    One who practices the Dhamma
    in thought, word, & deed,
    receives praise here on earth
and after death rejoices in heaven.

The question makes no sense. After death, there is no "you" anymore.

. . . PERHAPS, after death, one (another) can 'point' to anywhere in the universe . . . and "THERE YOU ARE!" ( . . . . returned to the quantum?) . . . now the BIG question . . . is the quantum realm sentient?

No one can know for sure what happens but you probably get reprocessed continuously.

What really happens to consciousness is a big mystery though. Dr. Stuart Hameroff says that conciousness could be quantum in nature so it could persist indefinitely.

You might want to read a bit more about quantum consciousness by Dr. Hameroff:

You rot eventually then you turn to to dust and in a few hundred years they move your head stone to the center of the grave yard and then forget you ever exsisted save for the maker in the middle of the feild. And then after time has decaded the stones down and the weeds have moved in they try to build houses on the land and then they discover a anceint burial ground. And the real kicker is they still dont know who you are or what you have done.

I don't think anything really happens after death...

    There is darkness and
    There is silence
You want to move but you can't anymore
You want to yell out but you don't have a mouth anymore.

Is there some kind of afterlife? No one knows. I like the Idea of one, but don't bank on one. Nor confident that it's something I would like or want to be apart of. If there is one of some degree, I just hope it's lacking all the conflict and noise of this life.

. . .heard this humor somewhere as a kid . . . "Never laugh when a hearse goes by, for you may be the next to die. And they'll bury you down, about six feet deep. All goes well for about a week, then your casket springs a leak. The worms crawl in and the worms crawl out, and the bugs play pinochle on your snout . . . "
