I'd sure like to know what that little girl is thinking.

I used to have a pierced lip and eyebrow. I've retired them a couple years back. I still have pierced ears. 3 holes in the left and two on the right!

The big question here is, do you think he would be embarrassed to go to prison dressed like that?

The subtitle of the picture was: " A German stowaway who was deported from Ellis Island in 1911".
This picture comes from a collection of photos about immigration of European citizens to USA at the beginnning of the 20th. century.

Embarrassed to go to prison dressed like that? I don't think so.

I was thinking his tats are kind of tame for prison.

Yes, I see his tattoos are too tame compared with present-day tattoos.

Anyway, in 1911 it took effect.

I've seen cooks in restaurants with almost that much ink.

    Women included.

The kind where you can watch the cook prepare your food.

Everything from diners to fine dining. Hang out at late hour bars where food people go after work and you'll see veritable tapestries on arms.

Nowadays, if you're in the food prep industry, it seems de rigueur to get ink.
