If he is not powerless, the it must be deliberately setting people up to fail. It's one or the other.

God can't make square circles either! He's impotent! Woohoo.

Texts don't infer (nor imply) anything - people do.

Which is why it is so revealing to check one's intentions, esp. when it comes to reading and critiquing scriptures.

It goes both ways. Wanting to believe something is true can influence a viewpoint.

    Sure.

Desiring to win a debate can also influence a viewpoint.

Matthew was a false prophet according to Knowledge91, I just debunked the bible. I really believe this.

Actually that would just be a linguistic fallacy. It depends on what you percieve a square circle to be.

A circle with 4 equal sides?

According to Bible teaching, God didn't set Judah up to fail, he just didn't know they would disobey him. God CAN see into the future, but in most cases he does not. Just like a Hotel Manager has all the keys to a room in the Hotel, but he doesn't go and open every room when someone is in there, unless neccesary, out of respect for people's privacy. If God knows everything which is about to happen, the whole damn Bible would go to hell. Why would he create Adam knowing he would sin? Why would he create Eve knowing she would decieve Adam? All of popular religion would be bunk.

I am not a theist, this is just Bible teaching. Or you could say the Bible contradicts itself, but the theists have an explaination to every seeming contradiction about this subject I think.

God doesn't "see" into the future, He thinks into the future...

Then it would be what you percieve a circle to be.

According to Christians, God would make sure everything he wanted in the Bible was in the Bible. If you were giving a note to someone down the hall, would you let someone write on it and write things in / take things out?

I hate arguing for theists, but some people need common sense....

Why are you referring to yourself in the third person? What does being in the 7th day have to do with anything??????? I'm just going to ignore you if you say anything else which doesn't make sense.

Would be? It is bunk. What is this nonsense about God not choosing to see into the future? Where does it say that in the Bible? In another thread you were bashing people for making things up, and yet here you are inventing a solution for one of the bible's many contradictions out of thin air.

There is nothing in the texts that reconciles this issue. That the texts are so flawed, so contradictory, is evidence of their earthly origin.

Well I meant to say that religion based on the Bible would be bunk. I don't disagree that religion is bunk, I only meant to provide their way of thinking. "This is what they believe." sort of thing.

Oh, I see. You're talking about the way the bible is taught, not what's actually in the bible.

Yeah, it's just my theism coming out in me, lol. And maybe my writing style, also. I always visualize that I am the person I am writing about, so sometimes, I can go off point, lol. It may have sounded like that's what I believe.

    Edit:

Well you cant actually say "what is in the Bible" either, though. What I mean is that some theists can cover up some of the contradictions to the point it can actually make sense if you look at it that way. They have their own interpretations. Some contradictions are not so easy to cover up, though. They try, but there is truth still exposed. That is the only reason why there is a lot more are atheists than there would be if the Bible was more vague on certain points, I think.

So in effect god is powerless to do anything, to help, because of his own rule, of not being nosey.

And Judah failed because god said.
"hi Judah you have a battle tomorrow, But I cant tell you whether you will win or lose"

"but god I'm doing this because you wish it, If I lose I don't do your bidding"

"yes bummer ain't it, I'm powerless to do anything either way, (my ruling) I.E. making sure you win or helping you win."

"So god your a bit of a Bas***d then, you can help but you won't"

"er er well yes, if you put it like that."

So my post 15 is correct, god is powerless either way.
