Where do you find that God is trying to wipe humanity off the planet currently? In Noah's time mankind was rotten to the core. Save for an algebra test, Noah's time made the "Group W bench" appear like souls waiting for their number to be called for entry into heaven.

If you are referring to THAT flood, then I'd think God was doing things right. Can you imagine what the world would be like by now? We'd have 60 year old men and women marrying 3 year olds with full intent of consummating that digusting union. The planet would have 10 year olds having babies and the population would amount to 30 billion people where this is the norm.

God saw a basically good family and showed them how to preserve their good natured part of the race. By the time Noah's ark came to rest, God had already created 4 more basic species of man. White, Black, Yellow and Red. That God seems to know what He's doing. I really like that God!

Ummmm, volcanoes are natural observable phenomenons that are tested on a daily basis. There is no leap or belief necessary to conclude that they exist. I'm dumbfounded that I needed to point that out to you......

People are not arguing that. You are projecting. I can say the same for you. Would it be accurate in saying that you dislike Shiva or would it be accurate in saying that believing in Shiva is illogical?

Which God and how do you know this?

People do discriminate however you missed the point. There is nothing that I hold up on a pedestal that is not subjected to the same standard test of scrutiny when defining the world around me. That is probably the biggest contrast between reason and science vs religion and faith. Faith asserts the answers and attempts to build supporting theories around it while reason and science uses a bottom up approach in understanding reality. Faith discriminates all other possible answers while science does the real work methodically and logically with the same degree of scrutiny.

I know volcanoes are physical things existing on earth. I was not using that to prove the existance of God. I was using that Analogy to show that you cannot decide to disbelieve in God because you disagree with some of the things He wills or has done. Other reasons apart from disagreement with Gods will must be used.

Belief that a God exists is logical. There are many good teachings in most of the worlds God believing religions and the same have bad teachings. I look upon a person who believes in shiva or allah as wiser than one who believes there is no God.

Yaveh the God of Abraham. I believed this because of His message through the Messiah Jesus. I know this because he has given me dreams of the future.

The world around you... Thats the thing God created the Universe, all the things that are around you. You cannot use the tools that measure all the things around to prove or disprove the existance of a God who is not a measurable entity in this universe.

Reasoning is in both. And faith means Trusting in God, we who believe in God trust in His guidance where we do not have the wisdom to understand it. thats what faith is. I do not have faith that God exists. I Know God exists.

science can only reach the height that is contained within the Universe.. So it is a limited tool that can never reach the Heights of God. It can only seek to understand the universe, it is totaly inadequit when it comes to things of God.

Dude i am sick of your arrogance. But i continue out of hope for others.

Because they are made up. The Bible is not in my opinion.

Because thats what i have been called to do by my God. Go give his Message. I also know that information i give can lie dormant in the minds of some who think i am a troll but will later surface in their minds when they have gone past the delusions they are under and come to a better understanding of this world and humanity.

The evidance as i have said before is in the Message of God it is a very powerful and moving evidance that i cannot deny. Just because it does not move you does not make it non-existant. The proof is in the fact that it have drawn millions of people into belief for thousands of years and today i am proof of its power and never ending effect.

No because i know that many humans are scammers. Such a proposition would have alarm bells ringing inside my head.

I don't have blind faith. Blind faith does not exist, all who believe in God have reasons, thats something that you are in denial about.

I think what gets most atheists' goat is that so many Chrisitans cannot explain their reason for believing in God, let alone following Jesus. One of the reasons I believe is a personal expeience involving time travel. If one believes in prophecy, they must believe in time travel, still, to experience a vision and see it come to pass 20 years later, with no possible way the visionary could have known the information at the first "seeing," confirms for that person alone that it is real and can happen. I can provide evidence of the occurrance in 1999, but I can't provide evidence that I truly envisioned the event in 1979. One might think it plausible where another might think it absurd.

Bob Lazar has people in his corner that verify his credentials that have apparently been erased when he publicized his alleged knowledge of Area 51. One will discount all of them as conspirators. Another will accept it at face value. Someone else may actually empathise with Lazar because they know it can and does happen, or it even happened to them. Anyone associated with doing the erasing will be Johnny on the spot to say such never happens.

I believe God inspires some to investigate the truth regardless of the findings. I believe Satan inspires MANY to mock those findings.

I just can't imagine being so willfully ignorant, turning my mind over to a Bronze Age myth that makes property of women and demands mindless capitulation to an invisible father-figure.

    Hmmm...

Why not just leave the statement as "I just can't imagine." ?

In fact, God may not be invisible to those exisitng in hypospace. If your biological father goes on a journey to the Bermuda Triangle and his ship appears to be lost, does he then qualify as an invisible father? If he moves to Mars, is he invisible?

I don't know what Bronze Age myth you are referring to, but the Bible does not make property of women, unless you are saying God owns everything and women are included in the ownership subset.

In fact I just reviewed the 10 commandments and found nothing that says "You will mindlessly capitulate to ANYONE."

No it makes property of men and women alike, we just call it slavery.

We are all slaves to something. Best of my knowledge, God says those who make it into heaven get to live in a mansion. I don't know many slaves that rise above a clapboard shack. Doesn't sound like slavery to me.

Now here on Earth, even America is seeming more and more like the common man is owned by the government and the government is owned by the wealthy, so we ultimately are slaves to money. Now money DOES demand mindless capitulation and by the end of the month it is usually invisible.

I'm not anyone's property. And I'm not easily fooled by false promises. I'm sure there were plenty of real slaves who would have loved to be "slaves" of an honest day's pay for an honest day's work.

Because I have a healthy imagination. I simply can't imagine that specific scenario. Being a zombie for a myth that crumbles under the most cursory examination? I shudder at the thought.

No, he wouldn't qualify, because he'd be real. God isn't.

    The tenth commandment:

Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, no his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbor's.

Thy neighbor's wife is lumped in with the chattel and considered to be "thy's neighbor's."

Really? Did you skip over the first two commandments?

Wait, you're actually in communication with god? Can you ask him why he fucked up my eyes so badly? I've been trying to get a hold of him but I keep getting this message that the number I've been trying to connect to never existed outside of my mind and that I should probably seek help.

Well indeed yes i have been in communication with God. I could ask him about your eyes, I could ask Him to fix them for you too. I guess it would not hurt to ask.

All i know is because we live in a world that is imperfect we are beset by suffering this includes eye problems. I got problems with my eyes also derived from diabetes. I accept my condition cause i got an eternal perspective and God gives me the strength to persevere irrespective of my problems. See that’s the huge practical day to day advantage i have over people like you. I accept i will face troubles in this world and i also believe my life in this world is as a few seconds compared to my eternal life.

So while a Christian and an atheist can get hit by the same troubles an atheist will be devastated while a Christian will see it as a burden but they will solider on because they have Hope.

All Praise The Ancient Of Days

PS: I don't like saying "i will pray for you" because when we pray we should do it in secret as Jesus guided us, but since i have virtually said in this post that i will be asking God about your eyes i have added this PS as a kind of confession, I don't want my actions to impede any actions of God that could be to your personal benefit.

    Hi Adstar.

I really needed to hear those words right now.

I know you meant them for someone else and for different reasons, but the part about Hope is important. Some days I'm so disheartened at the cruelty of others in this world.

It IS like it was in the days of Noah. I started a thread about Yellowstone. I believe when the basin fractures much more, there's going to be a runaway effect and we are going to see a flood again. In a way the planet is already being destroyed by fire; MAN'S fire from chimneys and cigarette's etcetera.

What if God sent an angel to further fracture that caldera basin? Even if He allowed some deranged person to go postal there in a big way. As we speak, Peru is experiencing floods killing many.

I'm beginning to think it's useless trying to find lost sheep anymore. The profession of science has been so perverted by atheism, meaning anti-Christianism, that a scientist who believes in Christ can no longer work in the modern disciplines. It's going to be over soon and we will all stand together in judgement.

God has told me to build a boat. He has cast me out of metaphorical whale into a town that is letting me build it without a permit. This town is high enough above sea level where the basins further west will flood but not here right away.

I' so sick of being tormented in the online forums that I don't want to try reaching out to others anymore. I'm sure it was like this for Noah, too. Wouldn't it be the shock of the ages if all the snow melted on Mt. Ararat and there's the remains of the ark? Wouldn't it be even more a shock if the remnants of computers and advanced technology was found inside it.

Thanx again for those words. If they didn't mean anything to anyone else, they helped me take another step today.

I think we are looking at two different versions. The 10th commandment doesn't say anything about possession of one's wife as a partisanship. A butler is someone's servant, but we don't own them. The 10th makes no reference to slavery.

I suppose anyone can read into any literature what they want. Look at all these threads. If someone sets out to destroy someone's written thoughts, they can find a way to pervert the words. The same thing is going on here.

Are you married? If so, is your wife your possession, or do you own each other equally?

This thread is about questioning the flood. I've been saying not only did it happen then, it's getting ready to happen again.

This question relates to it all: "Would you take a boat into the area of the Bermuda Triangle where ships have disappeared?"

Actually it began with the assumption of the flood, and asking if a god that did that would be worthy of worship, or would be needed to worship. It regressed to a flood discussion because a) a lot of the answers to the real question were the same, and b) the question of the flood happening at all was raised, and looking back, hasn't been addressed. Whether or not it should be, as it wasn't the focus, is another issue, but certain nothing has been presented here to suggest anything past localized floods in the past, which do happen all the time. It's part of the cycle of weather, and when people tend to live near waterways, floods do bad things. But not on a worldwide basis. Again, the OP was taking the hypothetical and asking about God, which I think was covered.

Your odds will be quite good. Just because you have some unsolved mysteries in a small percent of cases doesn't validate that there's something odd going on.

Apparently I'm losing my touch because the sarcasm in my post didn't come through as clearly as I had intended it to.

Devastated? Do you honestly think that I've been "devastated" by my troubles because I'm an atheist? What a load of shit. This is simply more theistic ignorance masquerading as wisdom.

We are told that in the end times the love of many would go cold and we are seeing it in this world today. Do not be disheartened, Yes most people are going the way of destruction but you always got to think of that individual here or there who wants to go the other way. We know that there is great rejoicing in heaven when one person embraces the Messiah Jesus and is granted eternity with God. Keep on looking for one of those people, what a wonderful thing to play a part in one coming to eternity with God, even if it is a bit part.

    Yes as scripture says:

    Luke 17
26 And as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:

And the people of this world are like they where in the days of Noah.

I believe the main instrument that will cause most of the dramatic damage on the earths surface in the final days will be a meteor impact in the sea, This will trigger a rain of fire from debris retuning into the atmosphere causing 1/3rd of the earth to be scorched with fire. It will also trigger a massive earthquake that will cause massive displacement of land masses causing huge tsunamis. God said He would never destroy the world by Flooding again but by fire. So while these tsunamis will cause great damage and death they will not be the main cause of the destruction.

    Genesis 9
11 Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

Yes persecution and marginalization of Christians is a process taking place today in many parts of the world. We are forgiven and the judgement will not be upon those who believe Jesus.

If you don't mind i would like to know what region your building your boat at?

I just want to know so i can get a fix on your altitude and geographical location.

Well i do not believe Noah needed any computers or advanced tech. But i am sure He was guided in building a superb ship. I know that the British once built a battle ship using the length and beam ratio revealed in the bible and it was the most stable gun platform they ever had. You got to allow the insults and cruelelty of trolls on forums fall off you like water of a ducks back. I know when you are a caring person this is a hard thing to do. But once they start throwing mud at you keep going and look Beyond them in Hope that someone else may be considering what you are saying. And there is always the biblical concept of the Seed. There is always a hope in the back of my mind that the person ranting and cursing you today might just reconsider the message you gave them when they are older.

If that is all they did then i have had a great day. Thanks for the great encouragement. ((((Hector))))

Give up on using sarcasm in a forum setting. It does not work. Sarcasm works more often when people have audio and visual clues. This is a totally text based communication medium.

So can i take it that you have perfect eye sight? Since you say you where using sarcasm i am wondering if what you said about your eyes was the truth or a lie?
