Welcome SAM! It is not necessary to use a large annoying brightly colored font!!

We can all see and read text that looks like this.

Also, I have a great way for people to avoid contracting HIV. Condoms!

Abstinence and education are good options too. Also not using large fonts. I hear there's a correlation.

People do get it from other sources besides standard sexual intercourse, primarily from contact with infected blood.

But more universal use of condoms during standard sexual intercourse would decrease the rate of the spread of HIV so drastically that these other ways would become so rare as to be sensibly ignored in one's personal risk management.

First condoms, next HIV screening and a single-partner relationship. That's as good as it gets.

    Hello Sam

    Welcome to Sciforums.

Firstly, you do not have to post in bright colours and large font to have people respond to you. In fact, please avoid doing so for large amounts of text as it hurts the eyeballs to read.

Secondly, HIV prevention amounts to safe sex practices (ie condoms), not coming into direct contact with infected blood and also not sharing needles or handling used needles and also placing used needles in the safe needle containers.

Most people who contract HIV today get it from what they believe is a single partner relationship. Young women, from cheating men. That makes up a huge percentage of HIV infections taking place, so your suggestion is fairly insulting and insensitive actually.

Sluts typically get fucked by condom'd cocks, both the female and gay male variety, a big percentage of HIV suffering people today are the kind of people who least deserve it- hopeless romantic faithful young girls that have accepted a marriage proposal.

But there is a significant number of young people who simply don't think about HIV at all. The same attitude that results in not thinking about pregnancy.
Perhaps this is true in our country. In other parts of the world male promiscuity is more common and wider in scope. What they regard as machismo (or whatever the word might be in their language) would be considered at least "date rape" in the USA, if not rape of the unqualified variety.

There are many countries where women have, by our standards, virtually no rights. The missing rights include the right to protect oneself against STDs, particularly in the most effective way: by saying "no."
