From Tiassa's post on Mr. Romney, I now ask the question whether the "love for Republicans" is in any way tied to the wage of those who "defend" Romney's ideals, in any way, shape or form. So please list your wage per year, unanimous to protect your interests and politically tied reasons to the wage.

I doubt that many people here will be comfortable disclosing their income to SciForums. Of those who do, they will likely be disproportionately low-income people.

You should probably ask for pre-tax income, not post-tax wages. Anyway those are the standard terms of the political debate that you are referring to, and they're much easier to calculate.

Also, is this household income, or individual income? Household income is, again, the usual measure in issues of tax and social policies.

Moreover, this poll isn't going to tell you want you want to know, which is whether there is a correlation between a person's income and their position on Romney. It will just give the income distribution for SciForums - for all you'd know from that, the anti-Romney people might be the wealthiest, and the pro-Romney people the poorest. You'll have no way to know.

Meanwhile, I recall reading somewhere that the best financial predictor of support for the GOP was not so much high income per se, but rather people who make a relatively high income but live in poor areas. So, basically, wealthy types in Red states - and the people whose lifestyle is most directly connected to inequality. There are plenty of people in the Bay Area and NY area with massive incomes in absolute terms, but the cost of living there waters that way down, and they are surrounded by lots of other people at similar income levels (and higher). So, again, the upshot is that inequality is the predictor, not wealth per se. Which is not surprising: the GOP is all about policies that feed inequality.

Simply put - too much to get help from the government (we were declined for food stamps), but too little to really survive (can't afford private health insurance, haven't had my glasses updated in six years, my teeth ain't seen a dentist in five, and our diet is as basic as it can get, and just meeting rent and utilities from month-to-month is a struggle)... so, pretty much right where most of the lower-middle class is XD

Not enough to pay tax. Pensioner. We've often said, old people can't afford teeth, eyes or pets. Seems now, a lot of young people cant's, either.

Nobody gets those numbers except our accountant, the IRS, and the occasional bank that's writing us a mortgage. (My numbers are not in that poll.)

We both have university degrees. Never had kids. Invested wisely. (I leave all that to her: I make the money, she multiplies it.) We're doing okay at 68.

Still working. With what qualifies as "work" today, you can keep working until your head crashes down on your keyboard.

Heh, Fraggle, mind sending a bit of investment wisdom my way? Then again, I guess in order to invest in anything, you have to have money TO invest... *sigh*

Here in Norway taxable income is public domain (you can search any name) the whole Romney thing wouldn't exist here. It is called transparency.

Did you just smoke a crack pipe?

Seems like it would be easier to figure out who to rob.

Yeah the people with the best security, wealth distribution is better here than the US so less problems with that sort of thing in general. Also just because someone made a million doesn't mean you can find it at thier home.
