That's a good idea, maybe there we can use a nuclear bomb.

But that space city revolves making artifical gravity.

But you could mine the moon instead, that would be easier to do because you won't need as much energy to lift heavy loads into space as on Earth.

Yes, but as I said, it's almost completely dead compared to Earth. There are no active volcanoes and there is very little tectonic activity. Unless you melt all that magma and force it to the surface with big pumps you're not just going to "start up" a volcano.

So then the materials would go earth -> moon -> space station. If you're going to do that why not just live on the moon? Cheaper and easier.

One major issue any astronaut that landed on the moon. Was dealing with the moon dust. Mars is more rocky. To start a rotating space station. Would require more issues. As well as for a long term stay, it would get "tricky". Also how do they get there oxygen, water, food, fuel, energy. Especially if they don't go to the moon, because of the dust.

We should finish the Luciferforming of Earth
before we start on other planets.

An I say captain. Your are still funny. If we destroy this planet or it gets destroyed naturally. We have nowhere to go. Best to have a "back up plan". An mars is a good place. For a new start.

It's not worse than the dust at Burning Man - and tens of thousands of people still manage to live there for a week.

Billvon, I'm slightly familiar with the burning man festival. Don't that location "move" around? AND it is usually in a desert location? Right?

Actually the largest volcano on, planet Mars (Olympos volcano?) was active many million years ago, and it is still suspected that it holds some activity, ennuf to hold some microbe life near it and liquide water beneath; all beneath the surface.
There is also an unknown process that produce methane on mars, that it may be some microbe life underground, and we all know that life is capable of appearing in harsh conditions too, many examples are here on earth, maybe the conditions on earth are not as harsh as on mars, but many microbes can survive in mars environement.
The water bear, wich is a small example, and it is an animal actually, not a microbe, can survive in very harsh conditions, even in outer space.

We can always plan those closed colonies and etc... that we want to build on Mars, and build them on Earth instead if that's the case, it should do about the same, maybe even better, I mean Earth is rich in resources, so that should help to sunstain the colony, most propably to be built underground, and in high areas, incase of a mteor or a nuclear war, and effcorse try to save as much as they can of life forms' genes and DNAs (in case they developed ennuf in the future to bring back verything to life from their DNA using all artificial ways, (no natural wombs or life forms that are close to the one you want to bring it back to life, like using an elephant womb to bring back a mamoth)), and maybe seeds and then later after the catastrophe they may want to go and build on the ground.

The moon is yust to closeby and to inhospitable Any activity on the moon should be done by teleoperating. Considering that the army allready uses teleoperated drones and even teleoperated surgery has allready happenend. I'm sure that you could build a base with yust robots.

Possible base ideas woiuld be to make a giant mirrors to make ground based telescopes that are above the atmosphere. A solar tower that generates electricity and beams it towards earth or a real manufactering plant that makes solar panels or other hardware that could be launched back into space.

I've sort of hope that they at one time could recreate neanderthals (it technological impossible but it's in a scientific field that changes fast) because it would be interesting to have a second sentient species that said their about 10 human species that are fairly intelligent and recreating them would be a order of magnitude easier then inventing fasther then light ships and looking for them somwhere else in the unvierse

Then why should humanity be given another planet to destroy? Isn't one planet enough because if we cannot keep this planet going then shouldn't be given any others to screw up. There's allot of radiation pouring down on Mars because it has no magnetosphere and very thin atmosphere that humans can't survive there even if they could get food and water there's no way to prevent radfiation poisioning unless they live way underground.

Given? Planets are simply there and they do not come with a bow. Also the people who are generally made out to be resposible for screwing up the earth are in fact mostly innovative and at least trying to improve, the people who complain that the first group screws up the world still demand their steaks ipods and cheap gasoline.

Given that ecological science on our own planet tends to be established by persons akin to frightened pilots of vast machinery they cannot understand , despairingly calling upon various experts to workout which buttons to push, the chances of pulling off a successful model on a planet that is already uninhabitable, incredibly distant and radically different does not look good.

But there are only certain planets that could support humans without terraforming them or trying to live with immense radiation poring down every second of life.

Have you ever heard of the ascension island? To be blunt when you talk abouth the franctic experts your probably thinking of people who want to ridicule global warming and theorise abouth the simple and cheap sollutions. But in fact humans have been manipulating and predicting the climate both locally and globally. In fact we are getting progressivly better at it think of those silver iodine cloudseeders and geneticaly engineared crops.

if you would be in a balloon 55 km above the surface of venus the air pressure would be like 4000 meters on earth with a temprature of 27°C altough their would be no free oxygen all you would need is a floating defice (balloon) to stay at this altitude and a oxygen mask to survive next to earth it's the most habitable spot in the solar system.

However it's mars where we can walk on the surface and that eventually we have a realistic change on changing.

    Many reasons pick on
1 because we can (okay we can't yet but eventually it might be possible)
2 because people have been dreaming abouth alien encounters since forever and this one is realisticly atainable.
3 They are physically built different today we have jobs that orient more to males some to females how would they integrate themselfs into society
4 A response to fermis paradox (where are all the aliens) ten some humans species could probably if the situation was right become civilised and invented spaceflight with homo sapiens having the achilles of religion how come they didn't make it?
5 It's the proper thing to do if humans became extinct one day it would be nice some other species brought us back.
6 Eventually if you go back far enough species their intilligense will dwindle resembling closer to the great apes this might teach us something intiligence in general.
7 Why not (what could we possibly loose by doing it)
