To stretch a black hole, you'd actually be stretching the star/singularity within. First implication of spreading the matter out would be that gravity at any point is less and less, so the escape velocity eventually would fall below c, allowing radiation to escape. So we'd have a visible star again, although it would be elongated (but we're using magic, so that doesn't matter). The big question that probably can't be answered is, what would that star consist of? Would it regenerate to neutron material, so we recreate a neutron star, or would the matter have been crushed beyond combination again, and we have a quark soup mix or something. Or, if the matter truly turned into a singularity, would we have a line of gravitational influence, and would it be visible at all?
How would you stretch it???, it's based purely on radius, spherically symmetric, you can only make it grow or shrink in radius. They are imaginary anyhow, and only exist as an example of poor mathematics.
The OP did open the question with "never mind how". It's a thought experiment. And even as a thought experiment, it's probably beyond our understanding, past theories. Perhaps you're talking about the singularity as not possible and a mathematics construct? Because stars that have gravity that overwhelms even light do exist, it's really not at all a new concept, only a new one as far as being able to detect them better.

That's what facts are? Stars at the center of our own galaxy, no wait, that's an assumption as well.... Pity they don't have the data for the andromeda galaxy. @Rhaedas, yes I was refering to the mathematical model, schwardchild radius, it can only be stretched by radius, meaning all directions at once. But only in maths, bad maths, that rejects the essence of GR in that it only pertains to the space outside the mass radius. If you assume the gravitational curve is continuous from space, external to the mass, right up to r=0, then by that very assumption we shouldn't be orbiting the sun, because the assumption fails at the surface of the sun. Or maybe exceptions to the rule should be ignored in order to make the theory correct?
