First, let me introduce myself. I’m Hieu Nguyen Ngoc, a Vietnamese, male, 40 years old. I reached enlightenment on 24-2-2004. Since then, I become a daoist (taoist) and teach taoistic zen (meditation). As I had learnt Taoism, Buddhistic meditation (similar to taoistic zen as I found), Osho, Professor Cao Xuan Huy (a Vietnamese Taoist), and I had integrated these into a new system, I have the name integration zen taoist. Before me, even founders Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu, Lieh Tzu, we don’t see they had zen. A zen taoist like me is very new. Taoism is different from Buddhism from beginning, but the last, i.e, enlightenment in Taoism is very similar to that of Buddhism. Hence, some Buddhists in Vietnam say to learn, to practise both are good. Consequently, Taoistic zen is very valuable, as good as Buddhist zen.

Is it arrogant to call myself a taoist, that means, I’m enlightened, live in deliverance, always happy? No! To be enlightened is to perceive nothingness, not goodness. Since I don’t say I’m good, I’m not arrogant. To see I am nothingness, that is to see I have no yin (bad) direction, nor yang (good) direction, but I see that I am chaotic as Lao Tzu, Chuang Tzu wrote. I see I’m multidimensional, neither good only nor bad only, but my life goes every direction. When I see I’m nothingness, my mind is empty, sadness can’t enter, so I am happy unconditionally, even when criminals robbed me, as I see robbers were nothingness, money was nothingness, not goodness, as a result, I would treat robbers like friends. Osho, modern zen master wrote that Lao Tzu & Buddha were both non-being, not the good. Since being enlightened, I have the ability to require evil with good, and I have no ego as Lao & Buddha taught, not to return like for like in a mediocre way. This is not because I have desire to do goodness, to become a saint, but because I see my enemies are nothingness, no firm natures. Learn Taoism, you will know why easily. Lao & Buddha said everyone was equal, thus, I am not higher, greater than my learners; women and men are equal, the rich and the poor are equal etc, then of course I treat my learners as friends.

My aim is I want to spread non-being as far as I can, since to perceive Tao, or nothingness is great happiness. To know non-existence is to be relaxed most of the time, therefore you would have a calm soul and a silent soul makes you a good learner. This is a shortcut for studying.

Wow .. what a mass of contradictions.

You'll be a non existent non being soon enough. Why not enjoy life for the moment ?

Surely, you were given it - by nature, or God, or whatever caused your life - why not enjoy it ?

Worldly happiness if good. I love wordly happiness.

Attractive women, money, laughter, children, fine cars, good food, opulent houses, wealth .. all make ME happy. And I AM relaxed a good deal of the time, although tension in many cases is pleasurable, neccessary, vital.

I think you're selling yourself and your life way short.

President John Kennedy was happier than you, then he was assassinated. That was a tragedy, ok? Napoleon was the emperor of Euro, then had to live in banishing. That was misery, ok? In my opinion, their lives were nothingness, not firm nature, not good nor bad.You need externality to make you happy, i.e, you need Attractive women, money, laughter, children, fine cars, good food, opulent houses, wealth, not you yourself to be happy! For me, with or without money, wine, cute women etc, still I am happy! When being insulted, I love them who slander me. In short, I am like Lao Tzu, Buddha, who had not been miserable like J. Kennedy or Napoleon. Lao & Buddha were always happy, not depended on externality like ordinary people. Would like to hear more from you.

Not according to your earlier post it wasn't - it was neither good nor bad.

Why would you use mortality as an excuse for non - achievement ? We're all going to die.

Do you believe in an afterlife ?

All things have results. But again, you equate avoidance of misery with non achievement.

Then why use then as an antithesis to your argument ?

Read my post carefully - I didn't say I NEEDED these things to make me happy. I said thye make me happy.

You might be happier if you had a cute little emm, daoista to cuddle at night. To love - to have children with. Why do you think nature / God gave you your corporal existance ? Don't you think you're being un-natural / un-Godly in denying it ? Who put you in charge ? Did nature / God make an error when it / He gave you genitalia ?

Kinda like the 'turn the other cheek' of Christian dogma, though that too, is quite open to interpretation. A insult is light stuff. I'll bet though, if someone hurt you enough, intended to imminently kill you maybe, you'd retaliate, right ?

I haven't studied the history, nor read any alternative information concerning Lao Tzu, Buddha, etc, but I'd be surprised if they did not have their predilictions. In any case, it does not follow that what they believed was better than what others throughtout the ages believed.

I still say you're copping out on life. You said earlier you're not arrogant - I'm not saying you are arrogant, but your whole OP smacks of a subtle, circular kind of self aggrandisement.

You said you reach enlightenment in 2004. What did THAT do for you ?

Nan-in, a zen master living in the time 1868-1912 in Japan, met a university professor going to ask about zen.
Nan-in invited tea. He poured tea until the cup was full but still he poured more.
The professor was sitting, looking at water flowing out of the cup until he was not be able to control himself:”Too full. Please don’t pour more.”
“Similar to this cup,” Nan-in said, “Your head is full of opinions, thoughts. How can I talk zen to you, unless you empty your cup first?”

You know what to do, Lakon? These are just first posts. It takes time. Gradually, I'll talk all about taoistc meditation, all about Taoism.

I am here to bring happiness to anyone wishing enlightenment to be happiest because nothing can compare with taoistic & budhistic deliverance. As I see people have money fixation, sexual fixation, villa fixation, private plane fixation, in general, they are unhappy, I bring freedom to them as J. Krishnamurti, Osho, Buddha, Lao Tzu did.

Not yet. But for a Lao Tzu's follower, to read Buddha, Lieh Tzu ect is never a must because those books are multi-dimentional, or chaotic. It goes every direction, not just a good direction. Thus, reading U.G.Krishnamurti is good, but not reading him is still not bad. I am enlightened, I read enlightened authors, I see they are similar to me, not higher as all of the enlightened are nothingness, and everybody is Tao, so everybody is equal.

    Mod Hat — Brief Notes

    Mod Hat — Brief notes

In the first place, let me welcome our new neighbor to the community.

To the second, though, I would make two points:

    (1) As a general rule, we discourage members from providing personal contact information to the broader public.

    (2) When combined with the nature of the topic post in this thread, the contact information lends an air of spam to the writing. Indeed, it was in the process of striking this thread and banning the "spammer" that it became apparent that not all twenty-seven posts currently on the new member's record were spam.

Thus, we would encourage all members to reserve their contact information from the general public, for their own safety as we cannot account for every person on the face of the planet with an internet connection who might wish to jack email and Skype addresses for spamming purposes, or even the occasional stalker who wants to find out who and where people are for whatever personally obsessive reasons they might entertain.

This discussion is also relocated to About the Members, as it appears to be an introductory sort of thread.

My instincts say otherwise. There is something unsettling about you, something potentially dangerous. Your desire to bring happiness and enlightenment to others feels like a lure into something harmful.

Everything is impermanent, i.e. everything is nothingness. You point out for me what thing is only good, not bad? The most powerful country in 20th century was US, they fought against my country was Vietnam, therefore US was bad, but now, the two are friends. Friends or enemies, they change, no firm characteristics, not go in only the good direction. To perceive these unfixed characteristics is the right way, isn't? To perceive these is also called meditation to reach enlightenment in Taoism. Not strange, not harmful, isn't? I don't talk about badness, not to seduce others to do the bad, but I say the world is multi-dimentional (as you are! You're neither good - a saint, nor bad - a criminal). Whenever we perceive we ourselves and the world are multi-dimentional, we reach enlightenment, become happy. The obstacle is we usually think we're good since we are egoistic while the world is nothingness, i.e. it goes every direction, in consequence, we are miserable because of this contradiction. And whenever there are miserable people, I'll be there to talk Taoism to point out we're multi-dimentional like the world.

Can you describe your enlightenment experience? Where were you, what were you doing?

First congratulations. Was your enlightenment confirmed by a third party such as a master? There are levels of enlightenment in Zen Buddhism, is this also the case with Taoistic zen? I have never heard of Taoistic Zen and I look forward to your discussions.

I solved only one inner conflict to be enlightened. I had bought a CD-ROM to learn English from my neighbour. Going home, I couldn’t install into the PC. I gave it to a Pc technician, still it didn’t work. Of course, I brought it back to the neighbour. He installed well. Running well, he forced me to take the disk. That was right; I didn’t complain. But, he said I had been impolite and now when returning back the disk, I was impolite. I didn’t know how. He threatened to hit me. I got angry. I tried to endure. Going home, I ask Zen Master Do:”Why am I still getting angry at that guy?” The Zen Master answered:”Because you see you are more important than him.” That night, when in bed, I was curled up, no special position, thinking:”Ah, the thought of hating him, where is it from? Does it have nature? Why do I hate him? That’t right that I still consider I am more important than him. Actually, I and him are oneness.” Then, all my inner conflicts disappeared. I saw I and him jointed together as one. In about two minutes, I saw something was breaking in mine. Getting up, I walked, and I saw that I don’t love money anymore, and I don’t hate disgusting things like rubbish. I see everything is chaotic, no nature. In the morning, I stated I have reached enlightenment; I have been delivered. Everybody around me has not understood. Even so, I still see everybody around me has part of me, the difference is they don’t recognize it.

Please find out the 2nd ZEN TAOIST in the planet!! I know I am unique as I "invent" meditation in Taoism. I haven't seen any 2nd enlightened taoist, in consequence, I have no master to confirm me. But enlightenment is a private revolution. It is absolute, complete, i.e. when one reaches enlightenment, one knows that very clearly. One important standard is that one can "require evil with good" easily from a second to the whole life, very practical, very strong. All people one hated disappear. I have no master. I have Chuang Tzu as the father of my ideology; Lao Tzu as my uncle, Buddha as my close neighbor. & I learnt a little from Osho, Cao Xuan Huy. But with all these, I have the name of an integration taoist. I have no master to learn that how many levels of enlightenment in Taoism, consequently, with only my experience, I say there is just one level in Taoism.

You convinced yourself that you do not hate this person who tried to hit you. That was a good decision.

In your first post and subsequent post, you yourself expressed a great many opinions, and worse, contradictions.

You have really said nothing new, nothing of substance.

I asked you some questions but you didn't answer any of them. You're just persisting with your tired old cliches.

    Here's some I'd like you to answer;

    1) Do you believe in an afterlife ?
    2) Why did nature (or God if you believe in some God) give you corporal existance ?
    3) So the virtue of emptying the cup is so that it can be refilled with something else, according to the above anecdote ?

Incidently, Lao Tsu married, had children, one of them was a famous warrior, right ? What went wrong ?

You claimed in your most recent post that you are unique. I don't think you are. I think you're somewhat idiotic, and your self aggrandisment is worrying.

First, I am very pleased to hear that Vietnam and the United States are friendly. But this idea that you have, that goodness is egotistical, and therefore not something to be cultivated, is a very dangerous place to be. I am good. And I have a good strong ego. These are good things. All human beings are subject to desires for money, sex and power. A good person will look for honorable ways to achieve those things. I morally confused or ethically unrestrained person will take what they want if they think they can get away it. Why wouldn't they? It would be scary to live around people who are ethically unrestrained; those people would break the law and would hurt the innocent. I would be scared to have you as a neighbor. And if there was a crime in the neighborhood, I would tell the police that you don't believe in morals, ethics, or being a good person.
